I think people have claustrophobia depending on their birth experience. Being squeezed out of our mother's bodies, possibly very slowly, hour by hour, centimeter by centimeter, contraction after contraction. That feeling of being a little oxygen or very oxygen deprived as we move along. That feeling of being STUCK...no longer floating in fluid. The reason I think this? I never even knew I had claustrophobia....until I was 8. I was actually playing hide and seek!!! I hid under a bed and had a total panic attack! The first and ONLY panic attack ever!! This person? I think she may be lying, but I also think judging people by the emotions they show is dangerous. People and relationships are different. She might care a lot and not be a demonstrative person. She might not care for him but still not be a killer. She is obviously hung over and strung out here, which shows her substance dependence but could also impact her emotional reactions. (I can say, as an arthritis/headache sufferer, there are some mornings when if the police were interviewing me I'd be begging them for coffee and aspirin just so I could possibly get through the conversation.) Potential criminals should be assessed on the logic and accuracy of their stories, not the level of emotion they show when questioned.

I,m happy it worked out for you. Problem is that it's mostly the man who's arrested in domestic violence cases. Even if he's the victim and the one who called the police. It can even be used against him in family court in case of divorce or a custody battle. This is because of the duluth model. It dictates that not the one initiating the violence, but the one most likely to win a physical fight is marked as the primary aggressor. This is almost always the man. A restraining order might be a good idea early on. But better make sure you have a good lawyer. Because it might just as easily turn against you. I've heard from men who were attacked by a female partner, called the police, and were jailed themselves. Then they lost everything in family court and forced to pay their abuser. It's heartbreaking some of these stories from male victims.
