I don't understand how people, police in general get upset or defensive about any audits. When police are justifying, as for the public good, DUI roadblocks, prostitution stings, bait cars, bait bicycles, bait underage minors in a chat room, drug dog searches at schools, seat belt/child seat checkpoints, etc. We as a society even justify audits by the IRS, unscheduled health code inspections at restaurants, inspections at nursing homes, hospitals, etc. School boards demand unscheduled audits of a teacher's ability, by allowing someone to sit in on the class. Etc, etc. Etc. The next time a police dept uses underage consumers to try and by alcohol, or tobacco at a store, they are doing EXACTLY what we auditors are doing. Simply allowing someone the chance to either follow the law, or to break the law. As for the use of cameras to document any interaction between a member of society and a member of law enforcement, police do it themselves. If an auditor tells a cop, turn off your body cam, turn off your dash cam, turn off the overhead camera in the interrogation room, turn off the camera in the lobby, turn off the camera in the booking area etc. The same cop will say no. Why? It is there to be an impartial tool, to document without prejudice, and to protect not only the officer, but the public. The only difference is, if the cops do wrong on camera, or the information provided by the camera does not benefit or confirm their side of story, they can loose, destroy, refuse to release etc such evidence. When a member of society has the benefit of video evidence, which they have possession and legal authority over, they as a member of society HAVE ACCESS and CONTROL over, not the police. Imagine if every time you have a BBQ, the fire department policy is to show up at your house and CHECK, JUST FOR YOUR SAFETY, on what your doing? Or if they keep saying, we had someone call about the tiny amount of smoke and BBQ smell, so we HAVE TO WASTE my time, your time, and our time to check it out. By the way, do you have smoke detectors in the house, since were here we can go in house and CHECK. Do you have stickers on Windows notifying US of a children's room? What is your exit plan if a fire starts in the kitchen. We need to just check and see if your extinguishers are up to date. When was the last time you had your chimneys cleaned? Why is a gas can located on the floor of the garage? We now have to call the city code enforcer as ........all that because you were doing nothing illegal, but someone called. It is the SAME as when a cop says. We got called, so ya you will give us I.D., now we need to search you for weapons, where are you parked, etc.

You were already running late and its 5 miles around or 2miles of plowed fields, where they grow pumpkins every year, so considering that its march, no high fences, but a few no treespasing signs only,would you short cut it? If you did do so, would you stop and explain if someone stands up ( looks like homeless person who was sleeping in that field ) and wants to know what youre doin.? Yes or no. ? Hell no! Of course not , you got eyes and can see the facts here, so you keep on your hurring way. Cool? ! Just one thing...do you know the owner hasn't given him the job as 24 hr guard to stop school kids spring break mischief or to see that someone who has been driving out there doing Donuts in the middle of field - just because of meanness? I know that happens, but he could also be lying himself because people do it all the time, just like authorities do it all the time so if you did stop, just for an arrogant second to rebuff a perceived bluff" oh yeah get your boss ,the owner out here...heres my cell phone and you would feel Vindicated if he admitted that he couldn't. and what would that Vindication come from? The bluffing down of a homeless man sleeping in field, for being justified in questioning authority that wasn't, or for not bowing down to someone without the authority to question you? "I can't phone the owner , because I am the owner'! He still could be lying , but do you give over now?. My point is this: ; whatever answer you just thought you would have given me ,any idea you saw yourself doing, ,any reason why you would have done anything but obey- without question - the orders you were given, were wrong!!, All wrong and yes you do have all the same thoughts, ideas etc but, the differences in that situation are simple. You knew you were wrong from the very beginning.! In reality we don't know what we would do in any given circumstance, so its our rights tthat will be, and need to be the only place to make a stand...even if we only climb up on one to see if we still own it -and prepared to start trouble if that's what it takes. to find out. @@keithw.fletcher3307 I had a hard time following what you are trying to say, but will do my best to respond. First, the "irony" is that he keeps accusing the police of not knowing the law, when the fact is he is the one demonstrating a lack of knowledge. As for your scenario, at no time did the police "demand" anything from him, they politely asked. The fact that he did not comply with the request and did not get arrested is proof no one thought he disobeyed a lawful order. Walking around a secured facility that would be a prime target for a terrorist attack is not illegal or necessarily suspicious. Walking around it filming, obviously inspecting the security cameras, cables running around the fence, and even touching to fence to see if it is electrified is not illegal (except possibly trespassing), but it is highly suspicious - and he knows it - that was the whole reason he did it. It is well within the expectation for the police to investigate and ASK for identification. Compliance was never demanded and was voluntary - jerk decided to not volunteer with their request. I agree we all need to stand up for our rights or we risk losing them, but still say it is stupid to try to CREATE a situation just for the purpose of making a stand.

NO NEED FOR PRESS CREDENTIALS. In the Branzburg v.Hayes (1972) judgment, constitutional provisions for free speech prevent the federal government from making a distinction between citizens and journalists. The Court said that “liberty of the press is the right of the lonely pamphleteer who uses carbon paper or a mimeograph as much as the large metropolitan publisher who utilizes the latest photocomposition methods”. The Court ruled that press freedom was an individual right, not just belonging to traditional press, and went as far as to say that the functions of the traditional press are also “performed by lecturers, political pollsters, novelists, academic researchers, and dramatists”.. These statements made by the Court mean that many nontraditional journalists can be legally classified as journalists and yes even a plumber can be a journalist!

Just a heads up. That's not an electric fence. That cable was power and data wire for the cams mounted on the pillars. The amount of wildlife in the area and next to a road doesn't allow them to have an electric fence there.
@jbdragon32956 жыл бұрын
E30 M3 Ya, you can't have a electric fence right next to a public sidewalk. There would need ac regular fence first and a electric fence beyond that with warning signs.
@lhaa6 жыл бұрын
AN electric fence would require a ground[you!!] and an isolated conductor [the fence] in order to work. Isolating that big a fence would cost millions of dollars and the first old coot that rested on the fence and had a heart attack would end that. Wildlife are seldom injured,as birds are not grounded and squirrels,rabbits,etc are not susceptible to shocks like we would be.

I can't imagine this idiot having any friends, but if he does then I hope they're honest enough to tell him what a fool he looked in trying to start trouble. I would have thought all the foul-mouthed and aggressive language he used could be considered as verbal assault, and I think the cops were very professional and showed remarkable restraint. I hope a load of similar idiots to this moron constantly walk around HIS home, filming and peeping over the wall. Get a life, pal.

i watched a video yesterday of the ex-mayor of london getting down on the local police. they had "received a call" from the security guards of local stores who didn't like photographers outside their facilities. he reminded them repetitively that they worked for the town and not the corporations. really dressed them down. "the people pay your wages, not these stores. stop doing their bidding". (paraphrased) "go out and handle crimes in the town." (paraphrased). more cops, here in the u.s. need to be spoken to this way.

You notice that the older guard is carrying a revolver rather than a semi-auto pistol? I notice this a lot with older security guard type people. For some,under stress,better to stick to the revolver. One other idea in play is, if the weapon is taken away from you,less ammo for the criminal to use. Johnny does well here, noticing and dealing with multiple interrogators. Judging how well you deal with multiple questionnaires at the same time is a technique also use by doctors (like if you have brain damage from a stroke). In this case they are simply trying to throw him off his game.

While I don't agree with some of the tactics, This is a needed service. Keep it up . Police need to seriously work on reconnecting and maintaining relationships with the community they serve. Behaving like fellow citizens of the community, not behaving like an occupying army.
@johnnyfiveo6 жыл бұрын
@jballew22396 жыл бұрын
Agreed. And again, keep it up. It's not about hating police like some claim, it's wanting them to be a part of the community.
@AngryHateMusic6 жыл бұрын
It is impossible for you to make a criminal part of our community... that is insanity. Why are you not able to advocate they first not be criminals? We can have protections services without first being robbed for them; kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ-6dGukg9V8mdE
