Yeah they're not great of motorcycle riders. Outrun them on lesser bikes many a time. And it's not just me, many motorcyclists are better than them, just like many shooters are better them if you go visit them at a gun range you'll see. Many carry weapons, ride bikes, etc. Not because they're good at it but their job requires them to.

7:07 Most of the things you showed are part of regular civilian Dutch motorcycle license training... We have to show 6 of a collection of 12 exercises to pass one of the three exams to get a motorcycle riding license in the Netherlands. Several precision stopping exercises, walking the bike and parking it, high and slow speeds slaloms, figure of 8, turn from a stop, swerving... We do not use the more fancy exercise sequences but all the elements are basically there and the competitive element is absent as well... I am working on my 1968 Ukranian motorcycle which is the great great great grandfather of your bike...a 750cc flat twin with just 22 HP... cant wait to take it on the road...

Mark, do they not do the slow speed cone stuff here in the UK for Job bike courses? I assumed it would form part of the bike course
@markneal11753 жыл бұрын
@@manwithnoname6580 unfortunately not, we did workaround 5 days on endure bikes in a field learning bike handling but the rest of the training is all high speed stuff on the road.

@@markneal1175 interesting..I’d have thought slow speed handling would’ve been part and parcel of the course. I remember watching Job bike courses out on the driving school roads within the Hendon complex ( now demolished ) back in the 80’s and 90’s where they did slow speed stuff with cones, slaloms, etc . I’d have thought those skills would be imperative for inner city police work . Hey ho 🤷♂️

what I like is the ability of the training centers to keep conducting training. '92 I completed the advanced riders course and here we are in 2021 I will take the beginners course and up---times change; fundamentals may stay the same but ones approach or mere perception based on previous training can become an impediment to staying "current" not a motors person just a huge fan (the near chips soundtrack intro nice lol) Also liking the way you motors units ride in pairs or close proximity like 'wingwo/man' great video!

I am a former LEO (never a motor) but have a 2006 R1200RT and now a 2019 R1250RT... Enjoyed the video, particularly the “as you saw it” perspective... Stay safe out there brother... #backtheblue

I like how you put some rubber base plates in the course as obstacles.. Adds the quick adaptation kills in there also. Great Vid and thank you for what you do!

Nice video!!! I retired from The Sheriffs Dept here in NC in 2015, been riding bikes for about 20 or so years, always wanted to to to motor school but our agency doesn’t have bikes. I try to work on slow speed stuff when I can. Great video!!!!

Thank you for watching Chuck and appreciate your service! The slow speed stuff can be some of the hardest to keep sharp on. But man is it fun to train on!
