Police officer rammed with car during attempted escape | Warwickshire Police

On 17 June this year, a man used his car as a weapon while attempting to escape officers attempting his arrest.

The impact led to the officer in this video receiving injuries to his neck and shoulder, resulting in months of recuperation from the pain caused.
The suspect was wanted for failing to appear at court when officers were alerted to him driving towards Rugby.
When he realised he was being followed by an unmarked police car he fled, hitting speeds of 70 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour area.
He then drove his car into the officers’ vehicle in a head-on collision, before attempting to escape on foot.
On average, there are 24 assaults on police officers every month in Warwickshire.
Across the country in the year up to March 2024, there were an average of 3,826 assaults per month. Assaults leading to injury on police constables increased by 8.4% from the previous year.

I'm not saying women can't be Police Officers but she literally opened the door and let him run. Why is it then down to the male officer to go on chase after him? I'm the 1% that are not supportive of Warwickshire police. For 9 years they allowed me to be subjected to extreme harassmemt. I've now thankfully been relocated and no thanks to the police. Amazingly my harasser is doing what I told the police he would do and that is to continue his behaviour with someone else. I now live next door to lovely neighbours but my relationship with the police is damaged beyond repair.

@@Harry244ful It’s a requirement, the vehicle data logger information must be downloaded and made available to the investigation officer As is in the public interest, self insurance, police driving standards, accident investigation, disclosure and police accountability, personal injury liability on both sides , this will be accessed in any criminal or civil claims of both parties Any further questions on the incident will be raised in court by the barrister on defence and the prosecution
