Even with the harassment or targeting of modified looking cars. I see way more vehicles on the road that should be towed to a junkyard and they drive recklessly. Car enthusiasts usually drive more cautiously because they have invested in their passion for cars and don't want it smashed up. Also to touch on the amount of bad drivers out there that seems to be increasing in this city, somebody must be handing out drivers licenses to anyone that signs their name on a piece of paper saying "Can you drive?" "Yes." "ok here is your license. Go crash soon as snow touches the ground and drive down one way streets the wrong way."

couldnt agree more, last year a group of people with stock cars were doing burnouts and just raising havoc on the streets yet we were targeted for their behavior due to how our cars look. hopefully this changes sooner for the better

Bro. Great vid. I have a 2011 STI with a Tomei. Straight through as u can get. I like it but it’s loud and may go to a different route. Been pulled over for loud exhaust but had tickets for no front plate and wrong insurance which I think is real reason she pulled me over license plate scan tool. So I deserved it. She didn’t say anything after “U have a loud exhaust”. Did nothing normal driving.

Greetings from Arizona, USA. The Manitoba police would be all over cars that hop and bounce around via their overactive hydraulic springs. The police down here are really cool with these cars and actually stop and watch.

in most cases the tickets are discounted unless the officer doesnt show up to the hearing. then it is thrown out. which is good, but still a waste of time for everyone!

Ontario: 75. (1) Every motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device upon a motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 75 (1). You did not specify what cat-back it was. Most cat-backs are straight through, look at ARK Injen FI etc etc for the Z, it's straight through. Do you have kids? Here's the thing. Operation Noisemaker (see Cst. Taraso) in Ontario was started in 2020 because of all the babies, toddlers, kids in bed on school nights being woken up by guys ripping it. Wasn't like this in the early 2010's, not at all. Seems the new gen of drivers doesn't.. care. Police is police, they don't have enough specialty training to distinguish the fine details between cat-backs. You make deep, loud af noise? You're in for tickets. Families are tired, cops are tired... and now BOTH my VQs, and HR and a VHR, run quiet exhausts. Stock on my HR roadster, Invidia Q300 on the G. The muffler-delete Z33 that lives in the next neighborhood over? He gets looks, dirty looks. It's about noise in residential areas, your pulls on the highway are not a problem. It's the jerks among us enthusiasts who ruined it for everyone. The cops are using deterrence to solve the kids-awake-at-11-pm problem. Good luck.

Thats totally understandable if your car is too loud and if it’s bothering other people. Especially late at night when people are sleeping. But to go after an exhaust for how it looks is beyond me. If the officer measured and stated on the ticket that the car was for example 10 DB louder than whats allowed on the street I wouldnt have complained. But he got a ticket for a “hollywood style muffler” not even mentioning how loud it was. Whats next? “Car looks like its out of fast and the furious” tickets? Dont get me wrong, i know our cars can be loud hence why I personally dont step on it around residential areas for respect towards families with young kids. I live in a subdivision and i always hear people step on it especially when they see my drive way. I feel most of this issue is coming from lack of communication from both sides. If the law was made clear as to how loud cars can be people have no excuse for getting tickets. But last time they did that STOCK CARS were getting pulled over with STOCK exhausts last year… if they cant tell the difference its not the citizens fault. No shade at all, just a friendly discussion

Yes Jacques, I think what he's saying is your car can be quieter, but despite the quietness, if it looks "hollywood style", again even if it's quiet, you can get a ticket. However, if it looks "stock" or normal to the eyes of the police, even if it's loud, they get a pass.
