Police Sergeant Issues UNLAWFUL Move on Direction for Recording on PUBLIC SIDEWALK. Audit FAIL NSW

On Sunday 1 October 2023 I was recording on a PUBLIC SIDEWALK outside Kogarah Police Station. Out of nowhere two officers approach me and begin questioning me. I politely inform them that I am working on a project and can't reveal any further details. A Police Sergeant appears out of nowhere and informs me that I am a 'SECURITY RISK'. As I pose a risk to the 'OFFICER'S SAFETY' and 'THE PUBLIC'. After not discussing my purpose further, he threatened to ARREST me and issued me with a MOVE ON direction.
I will be making a formal complaint regarding this matter to NSW Police.
The officers involved will be held accountable. Tune in for updates

You should have stood your ground mate and continued to peacefully record from a public area as you were doing. Under section 197 of LEPRA, this tyrant pig needs to have resonable grounds in order to give a member of the public a move on order. Getting all irate & making false claims like "filming cars is dangerous", "you're filming OUR cars"........is not resonable grounds for the tyrant to give a move on order. There a no laws preventing anyone from recording cars from a public area, there are dash cams & CCTV cams everywhere right? plus the cars are not rightfully theirs anyway, they're public assets paid by the Aussie tax payers, we can record them all day from a public area without being harassed by stupid thug bully cops.

“Filming our cars” wasn’t his standing for reasonable grounds; safety and potential of threat was. You can state the laws but don’t leave out parts that would go against your agenda. For the purpose of this video, subsection 1c of LEPRA s197 states “is causing or likely to cause fear to another person or persons, so long as the relevant conduct (person and their behaviour) would be such as to cause fear to a person of reasonable firmness”. Just about everyone would be protective, defensive or questioning of someone who is randomly filming their vehicles, home, place of work etc, so that constitutes as reasonable grounds within “reasonable firmness” that safety and a potential threat is enough of a reason for you to move on… or in simpler and more understandable terms … fuck off.

It is world 🌍 Wide. I'm just over the ditch in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and in my history. Have not had one bad cop. Show up. Once I asked him to leave. He did. Oh his car was up the road. A few weeks later. Regardless of our sign. Staying Resident Only. The cops. drove in and blocked the drive way. Yes it was night time. I asked if they saw the sign, An officer. Walked out. Saw the sign. And told his partner. They had to leave. Oh even though I didn't need to speak to them. We spoke over the front fence. Only reason I did was because I didn't want them back later on. How do you think Google Street Maps work out? Additionally, there is no need to answer questions for police. There is no benefit to answering questions for police. I'd recommend checking out the Right to Record Act for NSW Police and relevant state legislation and you can see that the officers were in violation.
