What happened to the officer who didn't properly pat down the suspect before transport to the hospital? He failed to disarm the suspect, putting everyone at risk. What about the foolish hospital staffer who walked into the scene as the officers with guns drawn gathered at the door to secure the scene? He needs to be taught to not enter the area until he's called. As part of new training of all staff, the hospital can show him from 16:41 messing up. Lucky that an officer pulled him out of the way.

My dad used to be a corrections office at the county jail where we live. Whenever he found weapons on guys brought in from the road officers, he ripped the officers a new asshole for their laziness and failure to do their job properly since the CO's in the jail are not armed, nor have any stab or bulletproof vests because the city didn't wanna pay for them. It's such a simple thing that can cost someone their life. One officer left a big hunting knife in a guys pocket and my dad told him if anything happened to him because of his fuck up, he'd be responsible for delivering the news to his family as to why he got hurt/died. I'm sure the pat-down guy here got in HUGE trouble

I work security in a much smaller hospital and whenever we have a patient like this brought in at least 2 of us are present to assist the officers. Let alone at least 1 guard should be posted in the E.D. at all times. It baffles me how the police had to request for security because they weren’t there. The initial search was simply a pat down. It was not meant to be a detailed search as was being done here. You can see how long a detailed search lasts and what is involved. If they were to take this long in the parking lot, they would have been criticized for not getting him to the hospital fast enough...they knew there would be time and opportunity for a detailed search once at the hospital (as you saw here) This was within policy and procedure of most departments and im sure was same for their department, otherwise they would have conducted the search differently

It's a malfunction most serious shooters practice regularly so it's second nature if it were to happen in a life or death scenario.

As a former EMT for a major ambulance company on these types of calls, even if the police said they searched, I would still search before I loaded them. Several times over my years, I found something that the cop missed. Never a gun, but knives, boxcutters, screwdrivers, and other sharp objects. I wasnt going to load anyone in th back of my bus before i knew for myself they didn't have anything that would harm myself or my partner. For the cops, ambulance, and hospital security to miss this dude is a total breakdown.

He was given a light pat down when going into the ambulance. They can search him when in their custody at any time, for their own safety, the safety of the EMTs, and the safety of the suspect. Because it was a light pat down they didn't do a full search, and so missed the fact that the gun was inside his pants, probably in a makeshift holster, between his legs. As they began removing items from his pockets for safe keeping, one officer found credit cards with several different names on them. This gave him PC to conduct a search prior to arrest. As soon as he started to resist, the officers were clear to use whatever force necessary to overcome his resistance. Unfortunately, he chose to use deadly force to resist. The results are inevitable in that case. Cease the resistance and drop the gun, or face a permanent solution.

The ambulance i rode in last let me take my weapon, but i told them about it multiple times and it was in my bag, and when i got to the hospital they checked it in with security. Then when i went to leave, i went and told the security officer who i was and showed ID and he gave me my gun to take home with me. One thing I've learned from videos like these is that if a suspect doesn't let you search every square inch of them...they are hiding something. From that point forward, you have to refuse to let anything else occur until you have fully searched them. The whole hospital vibe with the alarm going off really does make the situation feel even more crazy.
