When my Nanna passed away, I wanted to go to her celebration of life, but I also didn’t want to miss school. I made the right decision and missed school for her celebration of life. It was a difficult decision to make because I didn’t want her to pass away in the first place. It wasn’t her time but our hospital did something stupid.

I had a roommate brag about her son being a cop, she would tell me that her son told her that if she ever got a ticket to let him know and he'd "take care of it for her", I've had enough friends that are cops tell me that if they were to do that, it could get them into a lot of trouble and possibly their job, so I know he wouldn't risk his job or his pension just to help his mom, but I didn't tell her that he legally couldn't do that because it would've got him in a lot of trouble

No one is above the law not even family members. When you are a police officer, it's a very serious matter and you're under oath to stop anyone who breaks the law. Even members of your own family. Though he can be a wally sometimes, Sgt. Green did the right thing.

Yeah. I remember seeing a video about a woman who assaulted a kid on a bike and the kid reported it to a cop. She ended up getting arrested. Funny thing was that the cop was the woman’s son. He even referred to her as Mrs. _Don’t remember the name_. He didn’t say “sorry, mom, but I’m afraid I have to place you under arrest”. More like “Mrs. ____, you are under arrest.”

Yeah. Committing a crime and someone in you’re family is a cop, isn’t going to give you immunity. If they are the one that interrogates you at the station, you probably won’t be getting special treatment. It will be different. If it’s one of you’re parents, you won’t be acting like their kid. You’ll be acting like a cop. They can’t make demands on how they should be treated.

I have my doubts that most policemen would have the guts to arrest their wife in a real life situation due to the potential fallout it would have on the marriage. That being said, I feel Sgt Green did what was right under the circumstances. The wife, my God, what a loser. Makes me feel fortunate I married an oriental girl 50 years ago.
