I’ll never forget back in the 90’s going to an away game at Milwall. The safest way for us to get there was by coach because if some Milwall supporters know you’re from the away team they’d have you. Anyway, the police had to escort us in through every red light and lock us in a compound for our safety. Before the match had finished they invaded the pitch and tried to rugby tackle our goalie! No wonder the away end was suspended off the ground so the home supporters couldn’t attack us. Scary stuff! Bloody love listening to your tales. @opticalman6417 Жыл бұрын
calling them idiots is puting it lightly their behavior is raised from trauma and thus their caught up in a victimhood mentality mindset the Football Hooligans have tried to move closer to wellness by physically acting out in an attempt to no longer feel powerless by committing a crime. In effect, they project their feelings of powerless out onto their victim and in doing so, feel more empowered. It is a reaction rising from fear. They do not realize that any action taken from a place of fear (without first coming mentally into a space of freedom) will only produce physical results coherent with powerlessness, such as prison. The victim however, has merely stayed in the state of fear and powerlessness without acting out.

Completely agree on this, as a youngster I used to be into football, but then realised that unless you were playing it, it’s incredibly boring to watch and the ‘fans’ were just terrible people. In every other sport, the fans are just enjoying the game and not looking for a fight. Even with American football, you can happily support the opposing team to the guy stood next to you with the worst being a bit of light hearted banter, you couldn’t do that in the UK as you’d probably get smacked.
