Thank you Tochi for your usually informative content. The truth of the matter is that the approach of the government has not really addressed the real problem which is an aging population that needs care why are many of the citizens of the country not ready to take care of their aging folks? Many people who are British would rather take benefits than be a carer, because of the conditions of service and the poor pay. The government can restrict the people coming into their country but the restriction must be in line with acceptable laws world wide. Those who are bringing in dependents are they doing it free ? They are paying all the needed fees. Remember that the policy of taking illegal migration was challenged in court before it was passed into law recently but has it stopped channel crossing ? Everyday people are coming into the UK through channels I believe that the policy needs to be reviewed holistically are the migrants responsible for the non investment and deterioration of NHS ? Are they not paying tax, migration may not be the solution but what exactly is the government doing to address the shortage of personnel in social care. It is not the migrants fault that people are living longer and need carers when they can no longer care for themselves

Thank you for your comment the government has to work harder on their social care systems. If all the migrants stayed in their countries what exactly is going to happen to all the elderly people who need care and cannot help themselves and have no family members nearby what will happen to those in the care homes are there enough workers? I’m just thinking aloud

They can just curtail the number of dependents like not more than two or three dependents.
@obehiimhanlahimi8277 ай бұрын
Exactly what I've been waiting for, I've been expecting some group to challenge it in court. The policy is just a lazy approach to problem solving, just "ban" and make the problem "go away." You can't eat your cake and have it back, something has to give in to make the care sector function optimally.Saying people should abandon their loved ones to come take care of yours is the height of selfishness. One would have expected them to put a cap on the number of dependants per applicant instead.
@nattyj81627 ай бұрын
What if an individual has 10 children? Hpw do you cap this?
@shanghaichica7 ай бұрын
The government aren’t saying people should abandon their families. They have to make a personal choice. They either come and work or leave their families at home. Nobody is forcing people to take up a job abroad. My husbands friends went to work in Saudi Arabia for a few years and left his kids at home in the UK with their mother. It was a personal choice for him. He didn’t expect to able to take his whole family over to Saudi Arabia.
@shanghaichica7 ай бұрын
@@nattyj8162the cap won’t work. They either ban dependants or allow them. Because if they say one they will be people who want their husband and children. If they say two there will be people who have more than 10 kids.

Unfortunately there's monopoly in the system. Majority of so called employers are Bt nationals, am sure a visitor cannot establish such company. So the issue is in house. Even the care job is awful very draining. 2 Healthcare assistant shift over 42bedroom + 1 nurse. What are we even talking about. Its going to be a perpetual issue because people doing it cannot even do it for too long. If you dont take care of yourself doing care job well such person is toying with his or life because its quite hectic. Being sponsored by employer is a cage already. I don't just get it very complicated.

Most don’t want to do this job. I am a nurse. Every setting I’ve worked in has always been short staffed and British people don’t seem to want to do the job. We have British people who come for one shift and never come back. It’s hard job and lowly paid. At the same time though I would rather have people who want to do the job than people who are just doing it because they have no other choice or for money.
