Ostuni-Gallipoli-Monopoli-Polignano a Mare-Fasano-Lecce-Brindisi is my favourite triangle in puglia. Beautiful beaches, great food and drinks all provided by people that know how to live very close to heaven, while still connected to their home soil. Please remember that summer-life there begins "at dusk" and summer-work starts long before dawn.

Go to Trapani, Sicilia for that type of view (NW of DT on the peninsula). Poligniano not bad though. It is like this all along the shores of Puglia (Gallipoli or Otranto as pretty).

Yeah, I totally get it and trust me, I was sticker shocked when I found out that was my least expensive option...however....I have to say, I've never experienced anything like it and if you were to ever splurge on amazing food and experience...it is definitely worth it! I'm not a Michelin restaurant person at all...and I was skeptical, but the food was on point in every course and so so good!

Thing is: grotta palazzese is the place to be if you are a tourist in polignano. The locals normally eat at home! Unless they go out in "comitiva" and might go for a pizza. Everything else is fancy and for a special occasion.
