Hi Ewilina, Thanks so much for these videos it is helping me a lot. I now live in Poland so hopefully I will learn it faster. Polish will be the third language I can speak. May I make a couple of suggestions. Perhaps say place names in Polish and their pronunciations. Also perhaps things you will need to say in a supermarket for example. Keep up the good work

It is a difficult language. My polish friend Renia speaks German, Russian, and English, and taught herself English 18 years ago, when she came to the UK. If she talks on the phone, I can make out the gist of the conversation, but it's hard. Ewilina is a good teacher.

It's been so long ago hearing polish words, but I kinda remember hearing the head scarf for women as ba bu ska. Is that even close ? I also remember wearing knit cap with a little knit ball on top, and the local kids tormenting us with slurs, so we cut the ball off and it was OK. That was back in 1945-46 . We learned to fight early in life. It seems like mama is pretty the norm for most languages. Thanks, enjoy watching your videos and taking the time for old guys like me. ...Ken Bartlett... Yeah I know, that sure doesn't sound Polish to me. I tell my wife I changed my name from Bartlettski years ago. She's not amused.

Many greetings from the frozen wastelands of Michigan! Thank you for making this channel, one of my worst personal failings is, I wasm't interested in learning the tongue until it was too late, and my Father and his Parents had gone. I was wondering if you might consider teaching 'Blood Brother' 'Heathen' and/or 'Specter' ( any names for evil spirits would be neat ) I know they sound like strange choices......which they are. Anyhow, have a great weekend!

Czesc ! I like this kind of video. I have an idea. What about to record while you're driving ? If you're not confortable to drive and talk about polish language, you can drive on a straight clean road with no car traffic, or maybe to drive ina busy city downtown and talk about what you see on the streets (the other cars doing wrong stuff), in polish, and later put the subtitles in english.
@Christombcharcot6 жыл бұрын
You would have to attach the camera somewhere in the (inside of the) car, to free your both hands, ofcourse. :-)

Ewelina, I hope you can help me because I don't even know how to spell the name that I'm asking about. But here goes: My mother's side of the family is Polish. Her mothers last name is Tuminski, and her father's last name is Zajack. My question is about the name I used to call my grandfather. I can't find it online, but it may be because I can't spell it, or I'm mispronouncing it. (I was a child when I remember visiting him). To the best of my ability and spelling, it was like saying something like Jud Jah or Gah Gah. Can you help me, or correct me? Thanks so much😊
