Polish AHS Krab self-propelled howitzers are characterized by extraordinary speed, mobility, comfort and precision of the guidance system. It is a house for the crew, there is heating and air conditioning. Each AHS Krab is equipped with a VHF radio, you can listen to music and news, and even a kettle, stove and microwave. The software relieved the physical burden of gunmen who tirelessly destroy Russian equipment.

I’m an as90 commander, the turret of the KRAB is from an AS90. It has issues electrically and mechanically but with that turret there is a work around everything that can go wrong or break, hence him saying they can work through the issues. It’s why the as90 turret is the best in the work a reversionary means for everything inside it.

I have also heard of them firing 152 mm ammunition. The AHS krab has the cannon designed in such a way that it could shoot any 155 mm caliber ammunition even non-NATO ones. So the Ukrainians started making brass rings to fit the cannon with Soviet 152 mm ammunition as well, and damaged I think a few pieces of the vehicle, then returned it for a claim. As for the Pzh 2000, it is also a very good artillery piece, but it was designed on the assumption that it would never take part in such intense fighting as that in Ukraine. The vehicles perform well according to the manufacturer's assumptions. It's just that the manufacturer made the vehicle according to the wrong assumptions that the German military imposed. However, the design assumptions are very good. Automatic loading and simplified ammunition loading are the future for artillery vehicles, and the Krab 2 is also expected to have a 3-man crew with automatic loading, a simplified ammunition loading mechanism (perhaps replacing the entire ammunition magazine, without carrying individual shells), active defense systems, and an automatic drone gun. An increased firing range from 40 km to 50-55 km would also be welcomed.

HSW S.A (the manufacturer of Krabs) has a very technologically advanced barrel plant, which is probably the reason for the good quality and parameters of the barrels of this howitzer. The parameters of another product of this company, i.e. the 120 mm mortar ( M120 RAK mortar), are several times more durable than similar products from the competition.

Krab is a monster but need active protection. At the beginning, many Krabs were damaged/destroyed due to the fault of the Ukrainians, because they were standing in the middle of the field or ammunition wagons were standing next to Krabs when there was no loading and then they were easily spotted by the Lancets

I will also add that Ukrainians often turn off the fire protection system in Krab because they smoke cigarettes there. Later, when the drone hits, it is too late to turn it on, because many of these fires could be extinguished and the crab would only require a small renovation.

krabs can use indian ammunition

Krab will fire anything because of how breech is designed. You can probably load 18th century cannon ball in there and it will fly out with proper charge and diameter. It is however something not standard, K9's don't have the same sealing mechanism neither does Pzh-2000. Was done on Krabs out of necessity - since Polish ammunition could vary in quality and there was a lot of import going on from various suppliers. Most other guns do certify a handful of suppliers and confirm specifications, but for Krab it was specifically made to fire out of spec munitions if need be (obviously as long as it's 155 NATO caliber). Generally this is the trend for a lot of weapons designed in Poland - to fire other stuff when needed. Same goes even for infantry rifles, Grot will fire and cycle anything that's 5.56 NATO, even if rifle isn't exactly perfect yet.

@@ansidhe From western howitzers only Swedish Archer uses similar sealing mechanism, but for different reasons - there it's fully automated system in space that's quite compact, and they wanted to prevent at least some of residue getting into mechanism. But that should too enable it to fire more types of shells that may not be entirely in spec.

If you look at the Roof HMG NSV 12.7x99 NATO version HMG is on the AHS Krab the 2S3 lacks one although it can be fitted to use one Ukrainian-made part but needs a Polish 12.7x99 NATO Bolt and barrel

Isn't there a point to being 'realistic' about what's going on...I don't think UKR should want to be seen as blatantly kicking RUS ass, because that will make people feel like they've 'done enough, UKR no longer needs support, no longer needs help'...and THAT is WRONG. If the West STOPs helping UKR, RUS has simply 3-4 times the population, and the resources, what would any reasonable person expect in a war of attrition? UKR cannot afford that. Russia will act like a school bully. If no one stands up to her, she will continue to strive to dominate others. If Germany and France had not opposed the accession of Georgia and Ukraine at the 2006 NATO congress, there would be no problem. If Germany and France did not support Russia with trade and sales of technology, there would be no problems (Germany was building infantry training complexes near Moscow, and France was happily selling electronics for Russian combat machines). If Germany had not helped in the construction of the Crimean Bridge and Smiens had not sold gas turbines despite the embargo after 2014, there would not have been so many problems.
