Awesome video . I had a question after watching. Is this the only way to stop the tantal from key holing ? And if so how much should I pay someone to do the job of swapping out the barrels?

@@danieldelewis2448 You'd need to figure out what's causing the keyholes, but yeah a barrel swap could fix it.

I am new to your channel & I have many questions! 1st, Know that, I am glad that you are showing people how to build firearms! My question is, Do you need a F.F.L. to build the firearms that you build? Or, is it just that, you plan on keeping them? So, can I build the same tools without a ffl? Also, where do you get the parts? I have many questions But, Hell ya brother! Glad to see another observing their RIGHTS!!!

So why do you need do you need to press the barrel back out to install the trunnion? Does the barrel obstruct the rivet installation?

Yes. The 4 normal rivets can’t be installed unless the barrel is taken out

God you set the headspace loose on that ak, your bolt is going to close on that no go gauge soon as hell

This is a good video. Very much enjoyed it. Total newbie question but do you have trouble with a regular drill bit wanting to walk off the barrel? For instance walking off into your front sight block when drilling the grooves for the pins?

It would be better to use an end mill if possible. I've just always tried to do these builds with things most guys have.

Question: I'm tempted to put grease between the parts that I press - like between the trunnions and the receiver, or the barrel. It's metal, and I hate rust. But since the parts are basically held by friction, it is probably a bad idea?

I don’t think so, if the grease isn’t causing rust, then I think you’ll be ok. Plus grease helps smoother the installation out

what’s the difference between drill press or milling machine?

Drill press is meant for drilling holes. Milling machines are like cnc but by hand. Milking machiens tend to be more accurate and better for drilling
