Kinda funny how videogame locations bring me so much more nostalgic memories than my real hometown. Maybe it's the fact that the real world changes, but videogames are preserved, mostly untouched.. Coming back to Yokosuka is always the best meditation for me. Thanks for the upload as always! You and Joseph are real gems for Shenmue community.

@@SurvivalSpheres it's kinda what pulled me into the game development. For some people those are just funny games. But to me some games are like another world that touches my soul more than the real one.

@@vhsretrogamer1664 Same here. Another thing that puzzles, almost bugs me sometimes, is the search for a common essence. The list of games that have such effect is not long for me, but they are of a (seemingly?) different nature. Take RE and Shenmue for example - both worlds couldn’t be further apart and can not work combined into one, yet they both have that certain something. What is that certain something, the common denominator?

Good theme. "When a storm approaches, it is common to take refuge. And sometimes we do it in our positive memories: those happy laughs of our parents, brothers or sisters, friends, our first loves, the warm breeze of a summer sunset 🌄🌅 or starry nights admiring the enormous moon, while reading or listening to music.🌌 Those magical vacations to our grandparents' village, riding a bike, getting small, not serious injuries." Fitting with the season we're in right now, this music and footage has one of those transition vibes, like Summer flowing gently into Autumn. My god. There has to be some material closely related to your music or this style that I can take notes on. It so authentic in its sound. I've got some things brewing but it always falls flat. Re visiting this channel after a few months im blown away at the amount of inspiration your bringing me. I find it difficult to find things on the internet that go into this nostalgic sound. I usually get stuck just making a loop but you have a great ear for composition and you can group sounds together that sound cohesive. Do you use mostly hardware or mostly vsts?
@deadtotheworld3 ай бұрын
I remember now you have some hardware. Its not really about the gear I guess its mostly about jamming and achieving an atmosphere
@SurvivalSpheres3 ай бұрын
Correct, all my sounds are coming from hardware. There are no specific sounds, I think you could use any tool as the electronic instruments are standard ones. I try to emulate classic VGM from the 90s and imagine what the composers back then achieved with the simplest methods and limited equipment that could be considered primitive compared to nowadays advanced technology. So you are right, it’s mostly about inspiration and composing, and finding your personal working method. For me, it must be without a screen/PC, because it kills my creativity. You seem to have an ear for this music so all you need to do is really try and gain more practice experience so that the operational aspect doesn’t bother you anymore. The musical ability itself is already there. I can not play any instrument, never learned music theory, cannot read sheet music. It’s all just the ear. Believe in your ear and the ultimate language of soundwaves!
