@@CPT891 life has been....well life and that's why I haven't done any videos. Means the world to me that someone is actually asking for an update though! So the 1970 bug is actually currently for sale and I did a few things to it and it's such a good car I hope someone will really enjoy it. I still have the bus and no plans of selling it just a great vehicle to take out every once and awhile.....but I did purchase 2 more bugs which should be coming home very soon. I don't think I will do any videos, mentally I can't seem to bring myself to do it unfortunately. Thank you for watching, it did mean everything to me at one point.

So I think it's called copper metallic, it's actually wrap from 3m. I don't recommend wrapping a bug haha

Has the motor got hydraulic lifters? could be the problem (sticking)

Whatever they come with stock so probably. That's a good idea

You need a mechanics stethoscope...or a long screw driver to touch to different parts of the engine and then hold against your ear. Lots of things can be making that noise. When you adjusted your valves did you double check if they are hydraulic lifters? Mine are Porsche hydraulic lifters that knock before warm up. And when the oil needs changing.

Maybe the transmission seals? I had a Geo Tracker (Suzuki Samurai) jeep that Lucas transmission additive restored and worked great. Added it about every 10,000 miles. No issues. Possibly when you added fluid that reduced your noise. Or maybe not. Peace

That is amazing, I would have never thought of that! That is definitely a possibility because this bus sat for so long. Thank you!

Right it's a very weird noise....and it really doesn't effect it or show in the oil...so who knows.

Heads are loose… when’s last time you retorqued them? After it heats up it expands and seals up the gap… take care of it asap
