The problem is that you cant with certainty say that person x stole land from y. A lot of land has changed hands since 1912-if i bought land in 2006 with hard earned money, am i the one who stole it? If one could find a patch of land that is still owned by the same family that took it from the group areas act, then i might agree. Is northern zululand stolen from Tsonga people? Is eastern KZN, Freestate stolen from Sotho people? How much land was stolen by tribe A from tribe B during Mfecane? We can go on and on. Land reform is certainly needed in SA. But doing so in a way that erodes property rights is extremey foolish and unjust.
