[16:10] Politics has different definitions and ideas, some see it as a positive social service while others see it as negative and corrupt. - Some view politics as a form of public service for the welfare of people. - Others see politics as manipulative and corrupt, with politicians only pursuing their own interests. - Conflicting images of politics exist, leading to some people staying away from politics while others believe in reforming it. [24:15] Politics is an integral part of society, impacting our lives through government policies, and political theory helps us understand the values and principles that guide policies. - Mahatma Gandhi said that politics is like a coil of snakes, and we must fight with it. - Politics is important because no society can exist without political organization and collective decision-making. - Government policies in health, education, and economics impact our lives, and a good government with good policies improves our lives. - Political theory helps us understand the values and principles that inspire and guide policies, making us aware citizens. [32:20] Political theory deals with principles such as equality and social justice, which guide policies and shape constitutions, and these values have been refined over time through debate and discussion among thinkers such as Aristotle, Marx, and Gandhi. - Political concepts do not emerge overnight, but rather are refined over time through debate and discussion among thinkers. - Democracy is considered better than monarchy because it protects the dignity of citizens, ensures everyone's voice is heard, and promotes equality. - Karl Marx argues that equality is as crucial as freedom, and without equality, freedom will not survive. - Mahatma Gandhi believes in the concept of Swaraj, or genuine freedom, and Dr. Ambedkar argues that groups with historical injustice must receive special protection for equality to be promoted. [40:25] Political theory is still relevant today due to issues of inequality and discrimination, new interpretations of freedom, and the emergence of new dimensions such as technology. - Although we have achieved freedom, equality and democracy, there are still many groups facing disadvantage and inequality. - New interpretations of freedom arise due to changing circumstances, such as the right to livelihood being added to the right to life. - New dimensions such as technology bring new challenges and the need for new rights, such as the right to privacy. - Netizens, or internet users, feel the need for privacy and government regulations to safeguard their rights. [48:30]The section discusses the different dimensions and opinions of political ideas such as equality and justice. - Netizens want the government to provide them with a safeguard. - Before debating or arguing on any topic, it is important to understand the meaning and significance of the ideas. - Political ideas like freedom, equality, citizenship, justice, development, nationalist, and secularism have multiple definitions. - Different dimensions of equality are discussed, including the treatment of disabled individuals and the provision of basic needs for the poor. - The government's role in providing education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds is also mentioned. The Writ of Heabus Corpus: literally the Heabus Corpus means ‗Let us have the body.‘ By this writ the court directs a detaining authority to produce the detained person in the court and justify the cause of his detention. II. The Writ of Mandamus: Literally Mandamus means ―We Command‖. By this writ, the court can order an inferior court or authority to do an act which falls within its jurisdiction. III. The Writ of Prohibition: This writ means to forbid or to stop and it is popularly known as ―Stay Orders‖. By this writ the court can prohibit an inferior authority or court from doing an act which does not fall in its jurisdiction. IV. The Writ of Quo-Warrantor: Literally it means ―By What Warrants‖. By this writ the court may stop any person from exercising function to which he is not lawfully entitled. V. The Writ of Certiorari: Literally it means ―to be certified‖.
