Russell Kirk has been a great influence on me. I recommend reading his fiction as well. "Ancestral Shadows" provides a good summary of his short stories and "Old House of Fear" is great for a novel length read as well. Kirk was also an exceptional role model who housed many people in need among other acts of kindness. A Catholic, a gentleman and a fantastic "man of letters".
