And are actively increasing the amount of racial and gender hatred within our communities. You socialists always blame everyone else and never take any personal responsibility.

To be fair, the Lord's have kept to a basic level of sane and competent. Remember the conservative lord who stood down when parliament wouldn't do anything about the billions of £s lost to corruption. Also the lords blocked the law last year which would make any protest which cause even mild discomfort punishable with up to 10 years in prison. Parliament however needs a good cleaning out.
@Neil-qg9cw

@@theghostoftom Even still the system of election is highly corrupt. We've got Lord's like that ex-KGB agents son, who bought his way in, and Michelle Mone who was one of the people who benefited from that same corrupt Covid money. The idea of a 2nd chamber is great as a balancing tool, but the method of election into it is disgustingly outdated, corrupt, and not fit for purpose - regardless of a few recent good decisions.

I'm leaving. I am taking that £326 when It comes sometime in October and I'm buying a ticket to Vietnam or Thailand or maybe even India. UK was the 5th richest country... now over taken by India... might go to india. Grass me up if you like... CHOICES: 1. stay in the UK and try to survive the winter on UC with no family or friends who can provide further support, in a flat that doesnt have heating. 2. leave and go to a warmer country for the winter, sure I'll probably have to sleep on the street or on a beach or in the cheapest crappiest little room... But i will be warm...and food is much cheaper. Hardly seems like much of a choice... seems more like a necessity to survive.

When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you - When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - You may know that your society is doomed. Here in the Uk we have a competition to see who the next PM will be,ask yourself why a man worth £730,000,000 wants a job that pays £164,000 a year and you'll know all you need to know about these grifters.

@Chris Emery The reason we vote Tory is because the current changes don’t affect us that much. Or rather we feel that those changes aren’t big enough rocks yet, perhaps they are more merely pebbles. And it’s not just people with money who feel like that, but there are many different circumstances. But perhaps these pebbles will turn to rocks at some point and then voters will change their attitudes. I would imagine those affected by the cost of living will certainly avoid Tory in the near future, but let’s not forget that there are still many people, people on minimum wage, working 40-60 hours a week whilst probably holding down second jobs who aren’t feeling much of a pinch at all. They might have savings for rainy days such as these. Those who are blasé and spend all their earnings are probably more likely feeling the stretch. Those who enjoyed too many luxuries before the world went crazy and didn’t think too far ahead. But at the end of the day, opinions vary.

Prportional Representation is the one which changes EVERYTHING - because it goes from 'opposition politics - to - 'co-operation politics'. With PR, parties have to always do coalitions to form a government or to get anything done. This means they have to find ways to co-operate instead of shouting and acting like school kids in Parliament - and it also means that, only those things the majority of VOTERS want, get passed through into Acts of Parliament. Although a close second to PR would be to ban 'lobbying' (better known as 'legalised' corruption - which was made 'legal' by the 'lawmakers' who benefit from that corruption of governance). Third on my list would be ban MPs from ever working for or getting any payments or benefits from the corporations they support during their time in office. (e.g. will Boris now get a cushy pay-off from the nuclear industry? Will Liz Truss benefit in any way from the fracking industry?)

@@davidwarnes5158 Good! The less they can do - the less damage they can do. All of this cost of living crisis was caused by politicians... because printing currency out of thin air is what creates inflation - it de-values the currency. We think the 'price' of everything is going UP - when in reality it is the 'value' of our currency which is going down. That currency printing was a response to their stupid covid policies of putting the entire nation under house arrest. It's all down to politicians trying to 'solve' problems which they themselves created... and then their solutions only create worse problems. The less politicians can do - the better imo... and if they can only do what a MAJORITY agree on - and that majority was elected proportionally so that it represents a majority of the voters - then GOOD! The rest which they can't agree on, can wait until they can agree - or simply never get done. If they cling on to opposition politics - stagnation will follow. What is needed is a total reform of the money system and get rid of the fiat currency system, get rid of debt based money. Get control of money away from the bankers and put it back in the control of government where it should be. Also make usury illegal. The fact that the banks can print money out of thin air and charge money on it is evil. As long as that continues you will always have inflation, boom and bust. All part of the system and is unavoidable. The banks don't really care if people can pay back a loan or credit card. Just so long as you pay every month. After all you can be paying the minimum on a credit card for 20 years and they are laughing all the way to the bank as you probably given the creditor tens of thousands of pounds already on a thousand pounds worth of debt. They don't care if you default. They got insurance for that and they do claim it if you do default and then sell that debt to a collection agency for pennies in the pound. They are still quids in as long as enough people are paying at any one time.

Instead of trusting government to confiscate and then squander our own money I wish we could find a way to replace all taxes on income with a high tax on sales of non-essential items that only the well off can afford, and replace compulsory NI deductions with optional health insurance and pensions that can be searched up on price comparison websites alongside the NHS and state pension options, the way we already do for car insurance, home insurance, etc. If the state offering is a good deal they'll still get funding, if not the funding goes to better providers forcing the state to provide better services. Ditto the BBC License Fee.. just make it one of many optional subscriptions for those who still want to watch it. The bottom line is government cannot be trusted to stop confiscating more and more money or to spend it wisely after they do, and the only way to properly defund them is to end their ability to levy any compulsory taxes on wages or on essential things like energy that people need to survive.

She ought to go with ceasing the current Ofgem increase and return it to £1,700 and follow the Labour plan. I would add also to receive this Government money the energy companies should provide the Government with shares. Any future profits would at least give the taxpayer a long term mini-return on our investment. She won’t do it though - any of it. Certainly not in the short term…

I live in France, my electric bill went from 1500€ per month to 2500€ per year last year. This year I have just been informed, it will be 4750€ That is not 4%. Also if the Government caps the price of energy, then that will cost a fortune, who do you think pays for that? They will add it to the National debt, which will devalue the pound which will lead to more inflation. The West is bankrupt, doesn’t matter who is in power. Our system is broken, we need a constitutional republic, decentralised power and sound money

@109 Countries the issue with statistics is that they never show a story. Liverpool also has more people living below the poverty line, and has a strong push towards unionisation. Looking at race may work in other demographics, but Liverpool, while having a mostly caucasian population, is by no means likely to lose it's working class attitude.

They think Labour are going to better. I remember getting a pay cut under Gordon Brown who abolished the 10p tax rate for the lowest paid workers. Then there was Blair’s PPI (Public Private Partnership) which virtually handed over the NHS to the private sector. Don’t see any solutions offered from this lot? I’d like to know where all the money would come from to get back our utilities from foreign owners and shareholders who seem to have more power than elected governments.
@TheNuovaman

So because Brown and Blair where bellends years ago, we just let the tories crush the country with crippling utility charges today? Ffs. Labour has a long way to go before I'd personally recognise them as a party of the people. I also despised Blair and still do, but letting these absolute useless, unfit for purpose excuses of tory politicians drag us into unfathomable depths of human despair, without recourse, should be everyone's first red flag. That's everyone with an ounce of humanity of course.
