The third interviewee said "It's sad how she was treated on social media". 1. Does he know what she did to all of our mortgage rates?! 2. Have you seen her talking about CHEEESE and pOrK MaRkEtS? She's meme/comedy gold, and the ridicule is absolutely deserved.

i always wonder what attracts people like him to the tory party - he disagrees with the way the Tories operate, their views on trans issues, but will then sacrifice that to the wolves because he cares more about the economy... that his party routinely crashed for the last 14 years. So why is he still a tory?

@tjwtf28 43% of the tory membership voted for sunak over truss. There are still a number of centre right tories who have yet to see that they've become the minority in party they've devoted time and energy too for years if not decades. If kimi or jeneric wins, I think we will see a final acceptance and an exodus of the centre right to the lib dems.

I think it´s virtually impossible for sensible moderate Tories to get elected these days, as the party membership and the parliamentary party is full of frothing lunatics. Basically, Johnson kicked out all the sane people in the Tory party. So the Tory party doesn´t really have a "moderate" wing of any kind these days, just different flavours of hard right. Whenever you don´t have debate in an organisation, you get ideological stupidity, and it´s happening in the Starmer era Labour party too. He has the opposite problem though, he´s kicked out his left wing.

Free Palestine 🇵🇸 -> our country needs to be free of bigots.?..?????
@Shellewell
@Shellewell 3 күн бұрын
I agree the anti-bigot sentiment is rich from a party where leadership frontrunners will talk about relative validity of cultures, but in fairness I'm pretty sure the guy interjecting did also say "fuck Israel" so there is maybe an argument to be had there around bigotry.
@nl5828
@nl5828 3 күн бұрын
@Shellewell being against the policies of israel does not mean those views are bigoted (specifically “anti-semitic”), in the same way that being against the regime in saudi arabia does not mean those views are “islamophobic”!
@Shellewell
@Shellewell 3 күн бұрын
@@nl5828 sure, in the abstract I agree with you, but there is also no nuance in saying "fuck Israel" between the country itself and its current political regime. One is not bigotry and, arguably, the only moral stance while the other could be argued as bigoted. When somebody is being disruptive of their conversation or interview, few people are going to go "can we clarify that statement" and most will just brush it off like he did, nuanced and strictly accurate or not.

Surely the comeback question to any Tory talking about the Labour vote share is to ask them about their own? Sure, tell us how unsecure the Labour base is, but tell us as well how you are going to get more then 23% that you were able to win last time? And with the same people that were in Cabinet when this happened saying the same things.
