A woman who studied Economics at Oxford and The London School of Economics; worked as an economist at the Bank of England and The British Embassy in Washington DC. Then worked as an economist at HBOS. She has served as Shadow Secretary of State at the Treasury and is now Shadow Chancellor. On the the other hand, there's Jeremy Hunt, who studied Philosophy and politics at Oxford and has never held any public office with a Treasury portfolio. A Charterhouse Blue Tory boy, with virtually no financial background. Taking care of the rich and privileged, the Non-Dom tax dodgers, tax free banker and hedge fund bonuses, tax avoidance corporations and bloated energy companies. Whilst screwing the ordinary working people of Britain through cuts in living standards and increasing taxes. Same old, same old Tory robber barons.

I'm just glad she used some stats and facts that somebody can corroborate and prove (or disprove). Better than when they use hyperbole and conjecture which literally means nothing. Governments should be ran on logic, facts and critical thinking and thats often hard to find when they are debating in the house of commons shouting over each other, not answering questions asked. Most of the comebacks are just attempts at digging into something the other side did, twisting the outcome to make it look bad.

With labour everything was fine until the credit crunch in 2008, and they messed up. They bailed out the banks and sat back as the bankers used the money to pay themselves 8 or even 9 figure bonuses. So the Tories got in and inflation was pretty stable around the BOE target of 2%pa until the pandemic, then the Tories messed up. Despite the Tories have given inflationary rises for those on benefits, pensions and minimum wages today, they will be out in the next election no question it seems when a party is faced with a crisis it fails and is outed.

The jeering and laughing when she is describing how tough life is for most of us made me absolutely furious. This Tory Government is a joke and has been failing this country for 12 years and they have to go. I'm in my mid 30's. In my lifetime, the best period of living that I can recall was in the early 2000's when Labour was in charge. Since 2010, it's been awful - Britain is divided and constantly looking for scapegoats rather than addressing it's own problems. I honestly just see Tories blaming everything and anyone, and people falling in line. That's what they want... It's tiresome and I'm now ashamed to be British whilst the rich get richer and the poor die in their droves. Say what you like about an illegal war by Blair (Bush technically...) - 300,000 of our own people killed by 10 unjustified years of austerity, For what!? For private water companies, transport companies, energy companies, bankers, millionaires and billionaires can rinse Britain as though it were a cash cow is utterly utterly disgusting. Anything including Food, Water, Post, Trains, Energy should be public owned. No more plane ticket prices for a train ticket. That is where privatisation gets you. Competition and cheaper prices we were promised back then :( Always voted tory since 18 now 52. Never ever again.

No use of general election, whoever comes next has to bear the music, the culprit is Mr Boris Johnson, easy going person who has misused the funds during pandemic lavishly spent and distributed the funds among the tory MPs without any economic plan. The UK public habituated for easy money and forgot the hardworking.
