This was a fun battle and a lot of fun. I love shiny Politoed and it just looks like more of an evolution from Poliwhirl. Poliwrath just looks like a mad poliwhirl lol. As always I like the commentary Liam is so engaging. I also like how he tells us what the moves are going to do as well as how effective its going to be it helps me learn a ton. Awesome job as always mate.

Poliwrath, i do like you alot, but Politoed is just so amazing! Its adorable, love its design, godly with Drizzle and Surf, ESPECIALLY with a teammate with Water Absorb like Lapras. Politoed might just be my favorite water type pokemon. Though i wont be too upset if Politoed loses. Just wish there was an easier way to get Politoed. Also, Pluse vs Minun is my idea for the next FF. HECK YEAH! A very close battle, gotta be one of my favorites. Also, maybe Slowbro vs Slowking as well?

Poliwrath was my first holographic card as a kid, and a member of my first ever nuzlocke team, so I kind of adore it. But I think Politoed is one of the cutest Pokemon and I like its more reasonable weaknesses. These guys and the slowpoke line might be some of the hardest for me to choose favorites on. Either way this was a great battle!

I prefer Poliwrath, I have used them as my water type on multiple playthroughs but I don't have any fond memories of Politoed since trade evolution is kind of a hassle for a casual playthrough and now there is a better rain setter in Pelipper.

Once again, I can’t decide. While Poliwrath makes more sense visually as an evolution of Poliwhirl, I find myself using Politoed more (It’s cuter, and Drizzle is just so good.) I use one names Suwako on one of my Touhou Project teams. And while Politied doesn’t look like it belongs in the Poliwag family, I like that it gives you the choice to evolve your Poliwhirl into either a physical or a special attacker.

As noted before, they are on very equal footing, but devastating together. Their stats benefit their types immensely, as having a pure water type as a special attacker helps in special water moves, and obviously same goes for fighting/physical. It all comes down to what you need more, physical or special. I still prefer shiny toad to the rest of the line, as it keeps the signature blue, and the difficulty of getting it in of itself makes it far more worth it as a collectible.

Heya Liam! How's it going? I never thought of these two duking it out but I quite like the notion :D Appearance wise, I like Politoad more because it looks like it actually went through a change where as Poliwrath looks too close to Poliwhirl for my liking; barely any change. My money is on Politoad before I watch anything because I like it more, but now I'll watch the comparison of the stats and abilities [...watching...] Politoad has less weaknesses, which is a good sign for my first bet, but Poliwrath has more resistances, and I like Politoad having a higher Special Attack although Poliwrath attack vs Politoed defense is larger than Politoads special attack versus Poliwrath's special defence. Also, Drizzle with Politoad is going to give an advantage to Poliwrath since it'll have Swift Swim. So, I'm changing my bed. My money is now on Poliwrath. Let's watch the fight! [...watching...] Whelp, that's what I get for second guessing myself huh? Congrats Politoad! This was an amazing battle.

Politoad was fantastic in gen 5 where rain was great, in gen 6 it was still OU but was much less powerful than in gen 5. And it was completely outclassed as a rain starter in gen 7 (and it sucked before it got drizzle)
