I think it’s BETTER if parents are weary of the potentially dangerous situations they subject their kids to, whether it’s going to a friends house or school, etc. I grew up in a small town, high school principal turned out to be a creep and my best friend’s father who was a coach was arrested with TBs of cp. You just never know and you need to err on the side of caution. If you just meant that parents should be held responsible for allowing their kids too much freedom then I agree with that also haha. Keep in mind that this student may well feel that he's in danger of being deported immediately, especially if he is undocumented. She may not have made any specific verbal threat, but if he was forced out of her home he would be at even higher risk.
