Thank you for this. it is so much fun. I remember 60 years ago my Swiss grandmother and a partner dancing from the living room, into the dining room around the table and back to the living room again. The whole time they are pumping their arms up and down. My grandmother loved to dance. Thanks for bringing that memory back to me.

I love this so much! Thank you! I am grabbing my Identical twin sister tomorrow and we are going to try it! We are old souls in young bodies and Love watching old movies and shows. Especially the Laurence Welk Show. Love it we Mr. Welk dances his polka. And he does it with the hop. I did select this video seeing you with your sister (?). It is hard to find any other young person that does real dancing anymore (at least where I live) and it is HARD to find guys. They think it's sissy or something. Not realizing MEN dance. Really enjoyed, thank you again!

I like it. This offers a simple video with open views of the body position. Others may be very good dancers and even teachers in the ballroom, but their videos fall short. Instruction does not require fancy outfits, terrific music, or talking about your credentials. Just do the simple dance. The same is true for learning, right? Nibble the information in small bites, don't try to swallow the concepts in large gulps or you will choke.

@@ZsaZsaUmbra In Wisconsin there was a station that played only polka music and it even became progressive enough to play Mexican Polkas as well! It made me very happy. I’m out of range for listening now. I wonder if it’s still around. Hmm… Cheers to all!

It looks like when you do the Chicago hop, when your foot goes back, it’s off to the side a little and the knees are kept together. Is that correct? Am I observing that correctly?

Please be culturally respectful and cognizant and know that POLKA is POLISH. POLKA literally means the female form of Polak which is Polka. As in a dancing Polish woman.
@joannaszulc1496 Жыл бұрын
Polka is a Czech dance. It is only called that way, the Czech word for 'a Polishwoman', but it certainly originated in Bohemia
