Funnily enough, Dio’s method was literally how the infinite staircase in SM64 worked. You get teleported to a spot which is identical to the spot you’re warped from, and the staircase was intricately designed to mask this effect entirely.

​@@JetowToneEffective range doesnt mean anything there. Star Platinum might be able to lightly manifest to the vending machine down the hall and rip out a bag of Doritos, but it cant deck someone. Stands are stronger the closer they are to their user. Effective range just means past that point, you can't do very much with the stand. Jotaro was still able to grab shit with Star Platinum from far away after the fact. Hence how he snuck the smokes and drink in his poker game, since he didnt realize he could stop time yet. Dio is, frankly, pretty powerful, and Polnareff wasn't that far away, so he could probably pick him up and put him down 1 step away with The World. It has 10 meters of effective range (see: page 12 of DIO's World, Part 6), so it's completely reasonable for The World to be able to shuffle Pol around a bit from that range.

I just realized. When Dio did this to Polnereff, he was using time stop over and over within a very short time frame. MEANING THERE'S CANONICALLY NO COOLDOWN ON TIME-STOP. This also means that, Jotaro's stand, *Star Platinum!* Has no cooldown either. Jotaro can just stop time literally every millisecond as soon as the last one runs out. He's so overpowered.
