Demise and rise of political theory .. After post world war 2 people questions about the normative approaches . They shifted towards scientific temperament , fact and quantitative assignment . They focused on the descriptive fact rather than observation . But it does not denied that values , ethics cannot be denied these played important part in human life .

Difference between normative and empirical approaches .. Normative approaches .. it based on norms . Prescriptive approaches , utopians etc . It does not based on evidence , facts etc and does not tell the reality . It tell what ought to be . Empirical approaches It tell about the reality . Based on scientific temperament . It is based on quantitative approaches . Taken facts into consideration . It tell the behaviour of people and about positive in the society . It tell the existed fact and reality .

Empirical approaches . .. It deals with the fact etc . Behavioural .. it deals with the what actually people doing. Logical positivism .. it deals with actually what positive change happens through this. It is largely descriptive which shows the reality which tell the fact . It based on quantitative approaches.

Authors.. John rawls .. about theory of justice . Normative approaches . David .. about the decline of political theory focused on empirical approaches . Some author says that fact and values cannot be separated. Because for doing some scientific reaserch we take some formula that is fact but we do observation from that by doing that thing is approaches of fact and value. Pros and cons of normative approaches .. Normative approaches .. Pros .. Ut deals with the norms . It prescribe what can be done. It shows path that what ought to be good . It tell what will be the impact of that thing by telling through norms . Cons .. It did not based on fact . It does not tell the reality . It tell only the utopian version. These prescription and norms may sometimes not be good for the society because these are not based on fact so verification cannot be given for that.

Pros and cons of empirical approaches ... It based on the fact that it is scientifically verifiable. Based on more fact and evidence there. Cons It set up some standard but standard cannot be set up . Because one of the author says even sometimes that thing scientific thing is right nay not be right on other time. It does not considered about any values. It does not values norms , emotions etc even did not believing in the existence of God .
