Toppen Magnus!

Great playing, as always, Magnus! This is a tune where I'm never really sure whether it's a slängpolska or a polska. From your playing and from what you taught us at Burg Fürsteneck this year, I now think that this is a polska, right? Although I think it also sounds nice played as a slängpolska, at least on the hurdy gurdy...

Hey Magnus. A question for you: I'm learning Swedish tunes by picking them up from sessions and playing with musicians like yourself. I've learned this tune from a Dutch fiddle player and like the tune, but I don't remember the extra beat that seems to be there in the B-part, at the end of the first phrase (and of course, in the second B as well). I also see it in your tapping. Is this an embellishment or natural element of the composition? How would this work for dancers? I'm no expert in Swedish dances, but I would he hopelessly confused try to dance e.g. a Bingsjö polska to this; for a slängpolska, as we usually announce it, it wouldn't bother people. Hope to hear from you.

Hmmm, found the tune in folkwiki.se, what a wonder this internet. It notes different varieties of this tune, including the 4/4 bar where you play it, though the last sixteenth note beat is played aeolian by you and is notated there in melodic minor, but I like your version better. Thanks for sharing the music!

it will probobly work bad for the dancers. This is the original version, the "dance version" is without the extra beat. This is the "Kitchen" version.

Tänk att det finns harplåtar utanför Uppland?!?

Alla låtar är potentiella harplåtar. Det är bara att lära sig dom ;)
