Stuff like this helps so much, I've never touched one of these but needed to know if it supported two displays. Poly makes it clear as mud, as usual. Your video helped me.

Great video overview Josh! Two things worth mentioning. 1. There's an additional Philips-head screw that can be tightened to ensure that nobody can remove the cable management access panel. 2. The remote for the Poly Studio is optional, by default this camera can utilize automatic speaker tracking or enabled for group framing.

Great video! Thanks, Josh. Question -- an attendee in a Teams Room, how do they present (share their screen/present) without plugging into the HDMI cable? Do they just join the meeting from their laptop, then share from there? In a Zoom Room, for example, the attendee will just click the Share Screen button in their Zoom app, and the proximity signal is picked up automatically by the Zoom Room they're in without their laptop fully joining the meeting. Thanks in advance!

Hi Josh Currently i have 2 monitor connected to this polycom. During team meeting it only show 1 screen of camera view and another side are just black off. Dual screen turned on, the only button i can press is switch monitor in the touch panel. Do you have any idea to show 2 monitor at the same time ? 1 monitor is viewing myself and another monitor is showing my client face.

I have an important question about the instalation. I need to buy some license from microsoft teams for use the G40-T? (Microsoft teams rooms pro or basic). I ask because I can't connect teams on my device. It is not showing up in teams admin panel either.
@ExpertOfThings2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you need one of those two licenses. Assuming all other requirements for account creation and the network are in place, you should be able to log in, and then the device will show up in the Admin Center after a short delay.

how did you remove the screw?
@ExpertOfThings3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, which screw?
@prof.hawthorne31332 жыл бұрын
There's a single screw that holds the bottom panel in and prevents it from sliding open. I had to remove the plastic cover to unscrew it all the way. Surely there's a more elegant way to access this post assembly?
@balcoaustralia74442 жыл бұрын
@@prof.hawthorne3133 Yep, we spent half an hour trying to remove the panel before we discovered the hidden screw under the cross shaped hole. Rest of the video great though.

super annoying how the MTRs consistently pick the wrong audio devices when being setup the first time. you would think the MTR be coded to pick certified devices as default over onboard mic/sound cards. And volume up right next to the hang up button, whoops

This particular sku is for Teams. You would need to visit Poly's site for further supportability on this system.

Polycom are the masters of confusion. The TC8 needs PoE... but the GC8 comes with a power supply?! Doesn't make sense and isn't very clear in terms of trying to get hold of this information.
@DougGilpin2 жыл бұрын
The back cover removal is SO STUPID, once you have all the wires in, it becomes to tight to depress and you can't get the cover off again without breaking it. They have to fix that!
