Seeing that’s your first time ,I think you did quite well. I would like to give you a couple of pointers that may help you in future. Being right handed you need to start at the top left hand side of the wall apply some plaster then take the plaster from the hawk to the trowel , hold the trowel against the wall about 2feet down from the top push up and finish with a rainbow motion to the right. Do this until you reach the other side of the wall then repeat again on the left hand side but below the piece you’ve just plaster and continue again to the right until you finish. At anytime you can pull the trowel to the left,up,or down to smooth out any imperfections. Very importantly do not use to much water. I usually use a small paintbrush and flick it on sparingly. I hope this helps.

Great to see an honest attempt I’m about to do my damaged bathroom plaster (from removing old tiles) I think from what I’ve seen you need to let the plaster pretty much bear dry then run over it lightly with the trowel to smooth out.

As a DIY er myself..the best advice I was given with regular plaster, was to get it on, ...walk away for a short period of time. Let it go to the constancy of cheese, then flatten it off... 🤔

Thank you for the (literally) only one good and honest review for ready mix plaster I could find on YT, that is actually real-life experience. The square tool is called Hawk as far as I know; also I dont think I noticed you using water spray in between to soften and polish each coat, in your opinion does it need to be fully dried to be sanded each time or can it be smoothen with water straight after each coat? Well done, appreciate you time and effort in making video. Liked and Subscribed :)

Im only a few minutes in and already laughing at your way of filming this tutorial 😁 I mean it as a compliment, from one beginner to another! Im still even wondering what's on my ceiling after Ive removed the woodchip, is it plaster? No idea. 😅 Looks different 🤔 in any case, loving this glad I passed by your video gonna watch til the end as I just bought this a few days ago because... "it looked useful" and "easy", cheers from Ireland!

Did you add another coat of the plaster after the first coat had dried? If so did you PVA on top of the first coat for the second coat to stick to?

I cheated a little and made do with just the one coat - I should definitely have done 2! I am unsure to be honest - probably I would say yes but will try to find out the answer :-)
