The tracker is one of the pieces of hardware I have truly loved from its launch. And I am super happy about Polyend using it to show that not only can they produce innovative instruments but that they're behind them in support and updates no matter how long they have been in the market. I think we, electronic music makers, are changing our consumption patterns. It is not about having the latest box, but about using (and reusing) what we have to its full potential and for as long as it is functional. It's like many of us have learned that over-consumption of gear is a creative dead-end. Our times call for gear austerity, and creative prosperity. As consumers by obligation, our ethical stance should be to always avoid acquiring anything that does not promise to be usable for many years.

I dunno man, companies are pumping out new boxes all the time. But if less people buy them, which is a very real possibility in the current economic climate, they might have to continue supporting 'older' gear. I also think that technology isn't advancing as fast as it was before

Fantastic. I am surprised it didn't take off as much as I wanted to but Tracker is one of the most productive tools I have ever used. Great to see continued support despite the launch of the mini. Long Live Polyend

Allright.. this deserves a post. I dragged my PT out of the closet and set it up today to install the 1.8 update, after not having been a PT user since 1.3...... update when fine, then I loaded my gigantic collection of samples onto the SD card and thought I would give it a try. In the Sample Loader I tried to load up one of the directories and it hung for about 3 minutes. Then when it came back, it showed one of the directories as 30 different directories (2500-2599, 2600-2699, 2700-2799, etc). When I tried to enter one of these directories, the unit hung up again for another 2-3 minutes before displaying the samples. It did this every time I tried to enter/exit a directory. Sorry Polyend, but it got unplugged and thrown back in the closet again. It is absolutely unusable without a proper file browser. I had hoped this would have been corrected by now (3 YEARS since I bought this new), but it hasn't. What is the problem here??????

I really missed the spontanious way I used amiga trackers in the 1990s . So I bought two Polyend trackers one for Homestudio and one for on the road, and think that this is still a great tool. The only thing, that was putting me off, is, that you cant sample while playback. Thats so annoying if you like building while playing. I would REALLY appreciate any method to be able do that with the tracker. Otherwise I always need anoter recorder to make full tracks with vocals or other instruments.

There is one bug not resolved.first step when played seems like it has lpf or velocity fx on it after that continues normally.also when playing sample is the same issue,click preview the sund is dull click it again is normal click it again after sometime is dull,mostly heard that on kicks since they have big transient.I went back to 1.6 everything was normal but on 1.7.1 and 1.8 the issue remains.

Continued support is great but I saw all of those updates as things it should have had on release. The sample time keep incrementally getting longer with updates. I remember selling it then seeing an update for "better reverb" like wth, what makes it better and why wasnt it better when i had it. Just makes me ask a few questions. I want to dive back in but might just wait for 2.0 if its not discontinued by then.
