I have 2022 D7. I'm 50 and ridden hard tails mostly so the D7 is a big change for me. I consider my self a novice. I do not regret buying it but It is forcing me to improve as a rider to get the most out of the bike. The D7 is the first bike I have owned that I've enjoyed climbing up trails. So easy.

Love my D7!! Coming from an old 26inch 2003 duel Sus bike and having the previous experience riding, made me sway towards the better package overall of the D7. Has been easy to also upgrade anything I have needed over the past few years of owning it too!

Kinda torn between the D7 and T7. Would love a comparison if they are even comparable? I know the T7 has better components, but which one is better for uphill? Seems the D7 would be better going up and the T7 would be better going down.
@bikesonline
@bikesonline 2 жыл бұрын
We will definitely do that video soon! The specs aren't too different, only really the 11vs12 speed but the gear range is almost identical (11-51t vs 10-51t) and slightly different brakes. You are pretty spot on, the D7 will be better on the ups and T7 better on the downs. If you trails are lots of ups and downs and aren't to technical with, the D7 will be the better choice. But if there are a few more drops, rock gardens and fast open sections, the T7 will be better.
@And3rs88
@And3rs88 Жыл бұрын
I have the 22' D7 and another guy at the mtb Park has the T7, they are extremely similar and we both hit the flowy downhill jump tracks, but I would agree his shines a tiny bit more downhill VS mine uphill. Big drops or case a jump and the 140mm fork can soak it up slightly better when things don't go to plan. So much time is spent climbing too though plus the colour of the D7 just spoke to me. I didn't love the brakes at first so I upgraded rotors +20mm and using sintered pads (pads made the biggest difference), now they are awesome. Really don't feel the need to upgrade anything else!

My wife has the D7 27.5 medium and I have the T7 29 medium. We are novice at best but after a year of riding, I really like her bike for just mellow trail riding and mine for confidence inspiring steep descents. The 29 wheels probably play a large roll in that as well.

I’m trigger ready for a siskiu D7 and the only thing holding me back is online comments in regards to the combination of my weight and low BB height. Can the shock be tuned to appropriate sag with a 115kg rider on a size large? Or should I bebe prepared to shop for a shock right from the start?
@bikesonline
@bikesonline Жыл бұрын
The Low BB is definitely a blessing on the turns but there is obviously the potential for increased pedal strikes on technical climbs but timing can mitigate this a fair bit. You can always run shorter cranks in the future too. The bike is fine for your weight too, with the fork pumped up to the recommended pressure and running around 25% sag in the rear you should be fine but you can always put larger volume spacers in the rear shock if needed.

Hi there. Just a little bit about myself : I'm more than a roadie than a mountain biker. I've ridden Mountain bike since 2015. But know I'm doing it again, combining it with road bike. But I'll do it when the road bike season is over. What I did this year was starting with mountain biking. I've upgraded my Giant carbon XTC3 ("26) to fit the needs. But I'm looking for something more modern, full suspension and not worrying about the weight that much. Question: Which of these do you guys recommend me? Or do I have to go for the C5? Although it isn't a full sus. I can't tell that the "T" in the Giant XTC stands for trial. I do Cross country The fact that I'm not a full time mountain biker , but want to enjoy the moment I'm doing it, which one do I need to pick? Thanks in advance ✌🏽

You would likely get along best with our Siskiu D series, but it may be worth the change in geo / attitude of the Siskiu T. Once you get to know it, it may suit you better and bring more joy in a dedicated MTB arena.

Would you recommend a d6 for a beginner mountain biker? I’ve looked at the polygon xtrada 7 hardtail, but then saw this bike. Do you think full susp is overkill for me at this time being a beginner?
@bikesonline

Hi Hollie, it really depends on your trails. If your main concern is comfort or your trails are a bit more technical and rocky, the D6 would be a great option. But if your trails are smoother and you want the easiest bike possible to climb, the Xtrada will be better

@@cookiecanfly_ Sorry I should have been a bit clearer! you only measure the part of the seat tube that is the frame so don't include the seatpost. My D5 front tire has air leak. I cant seem to remove the tire to check the inner tube. It's like the tire is glued to the rim. Any idea?
@bikesonline
@bikesonline 10 ай бұрын
Let all of the air out of the tube and leave the presta valve open so air can pass in and out freely. Stand the wheel up and use your 8 fingers to push the tire in towards the center of the rim. Once even a portion of the tire bead drops into that middle relief channel, the rest will become significantly easier. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the video I’ve been thinking hard about which to get as I’m kind of just starting but at the think of myself as a bit of an intimidate now, I just ride a bad hard tale but I’ve got the chance to ride very good full suspension bikes and felt how amazing they are and im wanting to upgrade the D5 I think for me isn’t the one to go for since I would just like it to come standard with a dropper post and I feel like the standard features of the D6 and D7 are better so I will go with either one of them but it just comes down to money for me. Spend a little more for more features or save a little? I’m 16 so what do you think is best

Quick question. I have two kids 9 and 11. Both are ready for dual suspension bikes. And rather than the kids d24 bikes which they may grow out of. I'm thinking of the d5s which are both 1100$ right now!!! What the genuine upgrade potential In that bike. I'm going to guess its a straight steerer for one. But would I be able to upgrade the rear shock at some point if I wanted? At that price I'm not sure I can miss out on them tbh esp as I want two. And as a newbie myself I'm seeing the d5s don't have through axles.. what does that mean? And can't It also be upgraded or changed? Would that affect upgrading the forks?
@bikesonline
@bikesonline Жыл бұрын
Hi Glynn, they should both fit fine, especially if the 9 year old is on the taller side. The D5 is a great deal at the moment! The frame has a tapered steerer so upgrading the fork to a tapered one isn't a problem, all you need to do is change the lower headset cup/bearing. Upgrading the rear shock wont be a problem and a 1x drivetrain is a simple upgrade too. When it comes to the lack of through axles, the kids wont notice it too much unless they are on very rough trails, which really are beyond what the bike would be intended for. You can upgrade to a through axles fork, all you would need to do is change the front wheel. The rear however, can not be changed

No you can't swap out the link from D5 to D6/D7 because of their position on the frame, and makes no sense because the materials are the same. D6/D7 link won't make the D5 any stiffer by swapping out the linkage parts. it the suspension you need to change if you want noticeable performance difference....or the wheels from 27.5 to 29" as the D5 has frame clearance for the change.
