I don't really understand what the problem is. China needs more children and are willing to write checks for them? Fine. Then write checks to hire state-workers to care for children, grow children in a lab, and hand them off to be raised by the paid state workers, where they will be raised in a specific way to be productive earners, exactly in the mold that China would want. They are the one country that would *A)* have few moral objections to a project like this *B)* have the sweeping political power to implement this on a whim.

I consider chinese preference of new-born boys as a remaining of agricultral society. Had to admit that we have just stepped out from an agricultural society for a few decades. families used to need to have enough men to fight (yes, physically) against other families and villages. and many people have not step out of that sterotype. people used RPGs and rifles to fight against other villages even in 1980s. and 20 years before that, during the cultural revolution, people robbed local army and they fought with tanks and warships. every man received military training because we believed Soviet Union were about to invade us. so guess how hard it would be to make one change mind of preferring male if he or she was brought up in such a crazy society. that is also the reason why our people are so willing to give up our right of owning guns.

Chinese here ... watched your other video on the housing crisis and it’s pretty accurate. I would say expensive housing, overpriced education (private kindergarten is $25k per year.. because of the HUKOU thing a lot of parents have to send their children to private school in bigger cities), people do work long hours without overtime pay (the infamous 996 shift: 12 hours shift from 9 am to 9 pm and 6 days a week). And actually a lot of women suffer from infertility now :( that’s sad. But all those reasons are pretty much why.

No, our much maligned millennial population (I'm the first and oldest of the Millennial's at the age of 35) are the largest population and working block. There is still a lot of immigration to this country, making up for women in the workforce and deciding to have one, two, or no kids. America actually really has our population covered and we really did dodge a huge bullet with our population purely by chance. I'm not saying we planned it or anything, it was pure sheer luck this time. However, Japan, all of Europe and China are gonna crash hard on their populations. Maybe America can become a beacon of hope for humanity still, just maybe. Ps, screw all the goddamn people that I'm talking about whites only! We have a very diverse population with many people from all over the world still coming here, so something has got to still be a little bright. I don't want anyone on this Earth to suffer these huge changes, and if I had the power to fix the ills on this planet, I would absolutely spread the wealth to keep humanity going. I guess I'm one of the few last optimists that still believe everyone can work together and hopefully work our species to the stars. It sounds corny, but I can still dream of a hopeful future, the thought police can f**k themselves on this one.

Every time I look at them, I can't help but think if they were boys, they would be kept by their biological parents, which means they would probably turn out to be a wifeless farmer. And now because their parents toss them to rich American, these girls' life could be much brighter than a wifeless farmer......

That's a little rude to assume their life would be better without China. Plus lots of people just don't get married, and for the ones who do want to get married there are like 8 billion people on the planet, so it's not like they live in outer space. I would choose my poor ass mother over a rich family any day, even if it meant that I was destined to be a farmer who has a hard time getting a spouse. Taking someone from their culture and way of life can screw people up for generations, just look at the residential school system. The last one closed in the mid 90's and yet families are still messed up from that shit to this day. Please don't fall for the western way of thinking that everyone has to be more, do more, and have more. Many of us will live simple lives, and that's okay! :)

HotCrazyCatLady Me that was typical Taiwanese will do: try their best to backstabbing. While in reality i believed the life is actually easier and higher quality in mainland right now. (jealousy?) The real reason for this gender problem is the Ultrasonography and selective abortion if the parents found a female (it’s illegal for hospital to tell the parents what the gender is for their baby but ...) Things have became much better because ideas about male and female have changed a lot. not really the one child policy

@@Phantom-bh5ru China hasn't existed in it's current form for even a hundred years. Or are we also giving Italy credit for things the Roman Empire did? The CCP doesn't get to destroy Chinese history and culture and drive out the real Chinese government then pretend that they're a continuation of what they destroyed. That's absurd. China today is a cadaver that the CCP has been rolling around "weekend at bernies" style hoping nobody will notice.

Automation is going to lose people jobs. Losing jobs means no money. No money means nothing to feed children.
@Shenzhou.6 жыл бұрын
+CedarHunt China has 5000 years of history and is among the world's oldest 'continuous' civilization still alive today, whereas other great ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia, Rome and Egypt have since faded to history. China has a wealth of political literature to draw thousands of years of experience in how to govern a country, all written and preserved in books by Chinese scholars, historians, strategists, philosophers, and so on. The KMT (Taiwan) had their chance to rule the mainland, but they failed and they lost the mainland to the Communists and fled to Taiwan. How are they fit to be called the real government of China then?

Your data on their servers is encrypted in a way that only your master password (the one for your acct) can decrypt it. If you don't have the master password, it's mathematically impossible for you to get in. That's also the reason that if you forget it it's game over, they can't recover it for you.

@God nerfed me or... have a kid or two and a pet, and enjoy your life. Sure, kids cost a ton, they only respect you until: they are 11(girls) or 13(boys). Then break your heart with their poor decision making, then break your savings with poor education decisions. The plus side is immeasurable however, children are part of our life cycle, they complete us. I’m referring to biology and psychology, men and women, our bodies release hormones to steer our emotions to guide us as parents. It is difficult to explain, but people simply can’t understand it without having experienced it. I truly feel sad for people who can’t, or won’t have children. Pets are great, but they’re not kids... Stay safe-

I often wonder how my life would have turned out if the one kid policy wasn't a thing. I'm love my American parents and wouldn't wish to have been adopted my anyone else but sometimes I think about my birth mom.
