I am so very grateful for all the time you take to explain techniques of working with polymer clay! These rose canes you made are really lovely! Thank you for saying that it does not have to appear perfect, so it will look more natural at the end! I like where you added the grooves to simulate real rose petals also. I feel alot more confident that I will be able to succeed at doing rose canes, once I am ready to actually start making jewelry. I am still trying to gather tools and helpful equipment, which takes time with my limited budget. I really enjoy your Facebook group also! Thank you for all you do to encourage newbies like me to make pretty polymer clay art pieces!! I hope you have a great week and an awesome Spring and Summer 2023 !!! I just love those roses!!! 😍❤🐢🍁🎺🎺🦀🌲🌟🌈

Wow, your rose is the most realistic & beautiful I have come across, I absolutely love it, thank you SO much for sharing! Also, i really really appreciate how you show every single step, it's extremely helpful to me & i know that it must be for everyone else too. You explain everything so very clearly & specifically & beautifully and that is very much appreciated. I have several rose canes but none as nice as your's so i can't wait to go & try out your version. I see that you're pretty much brand new to filming tutorials on KZbin so if you just continue to create these great videos & canes & continue with your thorough explanations of the steps I have no doubt that you will very quickly gain a ton of new subs. Thank you so much for sharing this with us (oh & by the way, I'm absolutely terrible w/ math also. I always think that if I ever become good enough to actually create my own projects & canes, I could probably never actually film & release them because of how awful I am at math!).

I just followed your tutorial and it's great, but the clay I am working with is some off brand, I am new this is my first cane. and my clay was super soft and sticky as well. I thought for sure it was doomed when I wasn't paying attention and put two petals on the wrong way and it all sort of stuck together and tore when tried to put them right. But while my finished version is not your quality, it is definitely a rose, very pleased. Thanks for doing the tutorial.

Hi again Katie! I’m new to your tutorials and a “Newbie polymer clay artist”. I’m like you..... luv many art/crafting forms! But I have to say you are one of my new favorite clay teachers!!! You are a talented lady, but you are also and excellent 👩🏫 instructor that welcomes us students right into your home and never makes us feel like idiots! You teach your students with dignity and respect! That is a much coveted, developed skill in the teacher’s arena. Thank you for being so wonderful and for “being YOU”! 🥰👍😘. I have a suggestion.... I feel bad for you, struggling with dealing with your camera... you mentioned in another tutorial that your fiancé is in construction.... maybe if you butter him up, Dwight his favorite supper and dessert, you can persuade him to construct a sturdy pole on which you can mount your camera equipment, that can be over the front, to to the side of your desk? Making it easier for you to work without bumping into the camera. Of course.... if the table is up against a wall, it will be more tricky.... but I’m sure it won’t be that difficult for him, with construction experience. Maybe he can bring home some wood scraps to use? Just a thought. Luv this rose! 🥰👍😉👵🏻

Your roses are beautiful, I want one! I have just been making a red rose along with your video & 4 hours later I don't have a clue how it will turn out as I've reached the packing stage & omg I've run clean out of translucent :( The suspense will be killing waiting for mail order. Oh for a crystal ball to skip forward 4 days to the reveal of the first slice! If it's anything remotely like yours, my life will be complete :)
@susanhamilton83704 жыл бұрын
... couldn't wait ... first thing in the morning I sliced the end & big surprise as I had struggled massively, a recognizable rose!!!!!!!!!!!! Will try again to improve the petal positions. Thank you very much indeed, Katie :)

Question~ I know it is probably obvious at this point that I am binge watching your channel... lol =) But do you have a video you could point me to on your channel to watch if I have never made a cane before? That would give me the basics to get started and like the basic A,B,C's of how to do it? If you don't have a video of that any tips on where to go to learn that so I can give this all a try?? I really am seriously considering borrowing the clay I bought my teenager months ago that she hasn't even looked at! lol
