Thanks for watching, guys! Your continued support is appreciated❤ Thank you to all those who have ‘donated’ via the ‘Thanks’ button. Your kind gifts help me to keep on providing free content to my viewers! This tutorial is free for anyone to watch, and to recreate the pieces as shown, whether for personal use, or to sell. However, the recreation of this tutorial is not permitted. PS: I’m just gonna add this in here, now, before someone else tells me the same thing…Yes, I’m aware that metal leaf doesn’t stick to metal leaf, too well, but sometimes, I just don’t think. It happens. I’m an air head 😂 Just put the leaf on one side of the cut, and liquid clay on the other side of the cut, OR, put a layer of liquid clay between the gold leaf. ©Clayboutique 2022 All rights reserved.

Dee, your faux crystals/stones are so very close to what the real crystals that I work with look like. My jewelry clients love crystals but cannot always afford the jewelry I design. These polymer clay faux crystals make for beautiful affordable jewelry. Thank you for the tutorial, when I make these, I will definitely say "YOU" are my inspiration.

This is really beautiful! I tried your chippy-choppy method by putting everything (once chopped) into a small plastic bag that would normally be discarded and giving the open bag a nice firm, directional compression. it worked pretty well first time out, and prevented my own abused skin from requiring a harsh scrubbing without wearing the hated gloves. Just thought I'd add my trial experience. Glad you are well again!

These are wonderful! I really like this technique. I don’t think you were being snarky - I find it odd that anyone would care if you got messy fingers or used a brush. I mean, j guess I could understand it if it were in the form of a question, such as, “Is it okay to use a paint brush?” It might be insipid, but reasonable. You enjoy what you do, which is such a large proportion of my own choice of finding you so worthy of watching. I love how authentic you are - you do make me smile, smirk, and even get loud whilst laughing as I listen to you. Love these pieces so much! All of them. The ones with more trans showing are my favorite. I really like the way you cut the gold flakes in. Thank you, Deb.🌸💕🤗

As I'm watching you trying to get the two pieces of gold leaf to stick together, I'm wondering if you put a little liquid clay between the two pieces of gold leaf, would it help stick OR would it just slide away from each other. I would try it myself but I'm in the process of moving my craft room and my house is trashed. Just a thought!! I'm loving how this is going.
@clayboutique
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
Another alternative is to mix the gold leaf in with the liquid clay. Whenever I do my chippy choppy style, the metal leaf always tends to pull away. It’s just the nature of the beast. You just have to keep working it.

some people just have to be critical. Gives them a feeling of power. Too bad for them. You do it the way you want. It is right for you. I am going to try this for myself. I do not have any pearl, but think for me for the first I will do it without. Once I am able to get some of the pearl then maybe. My mom and cousin and I went to Alaska years ago and my cousin, who has way more money than me, bought a lovely ring with the gold in the matrix and it looked just like what you made. I was so envious. Now maybe after seeng your method I can make something for myself that I can wear as a pendant. thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial.

The exact same thing happened to me with resin. I was making all kinds of things with resin and I had a bad reaction. My hands were so bad for months! That’s why I started learning to use clay. That way I only use uv resin to finish and don’t really expose my hands to resin too much.

But since using (Aveeno skin relief moisturizing lotion - Helps heal Very dry skin clinically proven, Soothes sensitive or itchy extra dry skin Therapeutic with triple oat complex and natural shea butter) Not the generic. Beautiful ! Love your creativity and really love your accent ❣ Just a suggestion, if you generously coat the gold on both sides with the liquid clay you won't have the separation problem. You need to coat the gold entirely for it to blend and stick. Here you only coated the cut clay side where you then ended up with two "dry" gold sides that had no binder to join them, hence the need of more time working them physically together. Although this looks stable, it's actually not. This kind of joint has a high tendency to break apart if dropped on a hard floor. Where as, a gold vein that is more flooded with a binder will be better standing up to such a force. Hope this helps.
