I am confused. You at first cut the cane into 2 half, but the next shot, you have 3 pieces, never should when you did that . I am trying to guess the length, but how did you go from 2 to 3? I was following the video to make this cane but stuck on how to cut it into 3 ?

It is confusing, but what I think she did, was cut it in half and then decided which way those two halves would be put together. Once she decided which way they would be put together, she then reduced it again, and cut into three equal parts.
