Thanks! That is one of the reasons I started doing video tutorials. Most of the ones on KZbin are either sped up or are a 'speak over'. I like real time videos and instructions.

Another wonderful tutorial. I know what you mean about dog hair and clay. I have tried everything to try and avoid it, but I know that there is a little bit of my dogs in every clay project I do. Heck, I'm sure I've eaten my fair share too.....lol!

On the one slice that you said was wrong it had long holes, and you just put it off to the side. Could you put some clay backed with foil and roll it so it shows through the elongated holes? I think a pop of metallic color like maybe copper with those colors would be awesome. As far as having all those drawers of clay, and actually using it to clean, and throw it away...brought tears. I love this hobby soooo much, but it's soooo expensive. I'm on a fixed income and barely have any supplies, but at least I can watch and learn right? Your videos are great...straight forward, to the point, and easy to understand. Thanks for sharing! 💕
@Mimismarketva
@Mimismarketva 6 жыл бұрын
Have no fear! I am also on a fixed income too. I have to be careful what I buy and make the most out of what I have. The clay that I said I threw away was some dirty translucent clay that I used to clean my pasta machine between colors. I had used it quite a bit and it was a sick grey green color. It really wasn't good for anything. I usually keep all of my scrap and put it in bowls according to color. I use it to make bead cores or a sheet to put a veneer on. OR if I need just a small amount of a color I take it out of my scrap bowl instead of opening another block of clay. When I accumulate too much scrap, I blend it into sheets and keep it in a drawer to use for a project. I make boxes and things with them. If I still have too much, I will destash it. It's amazing how many people want scrap clay. I'm glad you found my channel and hope that you are learning from my videos. I have so much to share. Thanks for commenting.

Can you tell me the pasta machine you use and does it come with the motor and how much do they cost,thank you xx
@Mimismarketva
@Mimismarketva 7 жыл бұрын
Currently I am using a Marcato (Atlas) 150 with motor. It came as a set but you can get them separately. I bought it on Amazon but don't remember how much it was but I think I had some Amazon Gift Cards that helped with the cost. I believe I paid about $150 for the machine and motor. What I had before the Atlas was a Makin's Ultimate Clay Machine with motor. That was a good machine but only a little cheaper maybe $130. If you can find the machine at a craft store and use a coupon then buy the motor on Amazon it would be cheaper. If you shop on Amazon, I would appreciate it if you used my Affiliate link to make your purchase. It doesn't change anything for you but I will make a small commission on the sale. Thanks for watching!

hi Gail. I was wondering where did you get the flower cutter, please??
@Mimismarketva
@Mimismarketva 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my video! That is a Kemper Clay Cutter. I have several sets on my Amazon page but not a SET of the flower cutters. Some of the different size sets have the flower cutter in it. I went through a spell where I bought a lot of sets so I probably had enough size sets that I ended up with several sizes of each shape. Here is the link if you are interested. amzn.to/36Bvape Thanks again!

It would have been a respectful gesture to recognize Julie Picarello for inspiring your tutorial since this is her signature style of mokume gane.
@Mimismarketva
@Mimismarketva 3 жыл бұрын
I know Julie and we've served together on the IPCA Board (formerly NPCG). She is an amazing artist. Meaning no disrespect to her, I did not learn this from her. The guild I was a member of did Mokume Gane using several methods. I took the techniques I liked the best from all of the different techniques used and combined it into this one. If it is the same as Julie's, I'm sure she will agree that there are many similar Mokume Gane techniques. Thanks for looking out for her interests.
