Polymer Clay Mother of Pearl Inlay-Medallion

This is a challenge among friends. Make a medallion. Well, this was my first attempt. I'll be making more until I perfect not only the design, but the circle. It was rather fun though.

A Happy Thanksgiving to you. I have no more family here in Germany since my husband died,and we do not celebrate thanksgiving per say, but I made a thanksgiving dinner every year for all the years that I have lived here. Now I am just waiting for my papers,and maybe next year I will finely be able to celebrate with my family in New York. Meanwhile just know that your videos are greatly appreciated. This one turned out quite beautifully even if you did not quite like the results--I sure did.

A very Happy Thanksgiving. I am totally fascinated with this design and you have given me some great ideas for my micro cutters. (I am a retired Chef Garde Manger-cold foods etc.) I have so many mini and micro cutters to utilize and you have planted the seeds for some fantastic designs in my polymer clay projects. If you turn your little pieces over before you place them into the cut outs they will fit/sit better, because there is a flat edge and a beveled egde on each one and by turning one over you end up with a flat edgd and a beveled edge meeting. I hope that makes sense

Beautiful! I was surprised when you cut out the petals from the faux mother-of-pearl. I thought you would put the entire piece under the black? I suppose then you wouldn’t have an even and flat piece though.

Sorry you are going through the dental stuff and I don’t think you sound depressed! You seem like a no nonsense type😂. Which is my type. I have the new jdiction which is really thick . I’m sure you use a lighter, that really helps smooth it out. I haven’t had any issues with it. Nice medallion, the colors are beautiful 😀

I like the medallion, but honestly Irene nothing is perfect and I pray that you stop talking negatively about yourself! God made to be unique, not perfect!
