In this polymer clay tutorial, I'll be showing you how to make Faux Coral and Faux Lava from polymer clay. These are two of the simplest faux techniques, but the results are realistic and beautiful.
In this project we will be making a simple bracelet. Be sure to check out part two for the matching Boiling Bubbles Pendant - coming soon.

Beautiful piece and unique techniques, love it. Also where can we buy the last Red Handle Punch Drill you used? I like it because the end red handle is wider than other I had seen, so much better for my old hands. God Bless you and yours

Oh wow Jessama this is fabulous! I had just finished watching your matching necklace tutorial so I had to watch this to see how you made the beads! That is the first time I have ever seen someone let the paint dry and then wipe off more if need be!👏👏👏. How do you or what do you use to figure out the length of leather for your bracelet? I really enjoyed both of these tutorials. Thank you for sharing your talents and tips. ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👌👌👌👏👏👏👏

I make my bracelets to match my wrist, so I wrap the cord around my arm and then add about half an inch to compensate for the beads.

Hi Samantha, first of all just tell you that I love love love your tutorial and everything you do with polymer clay. I have a couple of questions: Is the varnish you're using water based and is it gloss or satin? Thank you for all you do so we can learn. :-)
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 5 жыл бұрын
Yes. The varnish is Varathane and is water based and is gloss.

Why do you drill afterwards instead of making a hole in the soft polymer before baking? For clay (porcelain clay) we use a coffee stir stick to poke a hole before firing. Why not with polymer clay?
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 5 жыл бұрын
I don't create a hole before baking because it would distort the beads.

Can you use these lava beads to put your young living oIls on please let me know I would to make my own so I know for sure they’re not waxed. Thank you for all your tutorials you are so great at teaching
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 5 жыл бұрын
I don't think they'd work since the clay is plastic and isn't porous. You can try taking lava beads and removing the wax from them by baking them. After baking rub the beads to remove the melted wax.

Is it funny that I knew that little "popping" sound in the background was a toaster oven in the process of baking ? ;) Great job, as always, Samantha !

Do you ever add a drop of glue to the ends before crimping?
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 5 жыл бұрын
No. I find with the cord and crimps I'm using the finish is strong enough with out glue.
