Polymer frame pistols will absorb shock better over time , so they’re really better overall.

I've seen some people remove the beaver tails from the PDP. What are you thoughts on that?
@swiftaudi28 күн бұрын
I cut the beaver tail off my strike one. For me it just gets in the way. My guess is people think it allows them a higher grip, maybe?
@johnfischer203428 күн бұрын
@@swiftaudiI did it to my Compact Pro SD and my SF Match. I carry appendix and the beaver tail gets in my way when I draw. I put my thumb on the rear sight as I’m coming out of the holster. I’d done it so many times appendix I even do it coming out of the 3 o’clock position with a big offset USPSA holster. It wasn’t bad on the polymer but I had it removed when I was getting it stippled up. The SF has a much more pronounced beaver tail. Chopping them off didn’t change my control of the gun one bit.

@@boomee78 I actually removed the beaver tail on my strike one because I carried it appendix for a long time and shot USPSA like that. I just figured explaining that here was irrelevant considering most USPSA shooters run OWB. Kind of funny both of you explaining the exact reason I took it off. I wasn’t expecting that.

What did you think about those lok palmswells? I used your video on silicon carbide to add size and texture to mine after shooting doubles better with my polymer w/large backstrap. Also, thanks. I learned a lot from you and Ben at your Iowa class this year.

@@willp5527 hey man. I have the on one of my steel frames currently. The contour is ok, but they’re too sharp for me and I think the silicone carbide gives better traction without hurting my hands like the bogies do.

Yea I think you’re right about the texture. I found the shape swell to be just way too different than what I was used to. Just got through my first month of pstg, and you guys are killing it. Keep it up!

Hey Joel, Between CZ S2 Vs Walther PDP Match SF, if you can only choose one, which one do you prefer?

I like that the polymer gun costs less. At least when it comes to the PDP. By the way I got a PDP because of you after shooting nothing but Glocks. The controls are just so comfortable I can’t stop touching it 😅

I have a Taylor Freelance on my polymer frame Canik SFX Rival, it really helps. As for recoil I installed a Rune tactical full length ss guide rod with a 13# recoil spring. It shoots awesome.

Hey Joel so you're saying that the Walther duty trigger has the same weight as the dynamic competition one? So if I wanna replace it I can just replace the shoe and get the full effect?
@boomee7828 күн бұрын
No it dosent it has less
@oddsparrow852228 күн бұрын
the real different is that you have less take up with the dynamic trigger. I don't even recognize the weight of any of them they are both really good. I would say that they are both 1911 crisp and that was matter not the weight.. If you want it lighter Sprinco have an spring kit for that.

Does your clientele care if they see you with a strait metal “match” trigger vs a curved polymer “duty” one? If the polymer vs metal frame attracts attention, I’m curious if the tiggers do too.
@falconp22628 күн бұрын
steel faster follow up shots, polymer cheaper you can buy 2 , up close it dose not matter shooting farther away steel all day , i have both the steel frame match and the polymer match , the steel just helps it return faster without fighting the gun , if you look at all the top USPSA shooters they are mostly using a heavy gun , they both have a place , good comparison !

You said something that gave me an idea. Maybe not a GOOD idea, but an idea either way. I have 2 full size 5 inch polymer PDP’s and I put a Floyd’s magwell on one of them. Of course it does give you a little wider “funnel” for mag changes. But I do notice it has a different feel. Then when I use my other PDP wit no magwell, it just feels slicker. I wonder if it’s possible for someone to make a polymer magwell for the slicker feel I perceive. Hmm….probably a dumb idea. Anyway, I just need to concentrate more on my skills than the small stuff.
@awokeone799728 күн бұрын
You're not wrong, saw a video with a Competition shooter reviewing a Shadow systems and he explained how he liked the polymer magwell especially since it takes the polymer Glock mags but I wonder if it's different since Walther mags are metal.

@ Replaceable polymer inserts? Very cool! I’m pretty new to all of this. I mean, I’ve been shooting off and on for quite a bit throughout my life. But just in the past couple years started really taking classes, training and practicing to be a better self defense shooter. Of course, that led me to trying little things to my guns to customize them a little bit. I keep them pretty stock. Just an optic, magwell, basepads etc. I wish they made one of those for the PDP. I’d sure try it!

@@CitizenCarrier Yeah, Dawson only makes them for Glocks and 2011s I believe. Maybe they’d consider making a product line for the PDP if you sent them an email? Enjoy your journey!
