Makes sense for you to avoid a brake given you train LE, for sure. Muzzle breaks are probably great for competition and one man suicide missions but for the people around you.. your just the a-hole that can't shoot and make lots of noise, also you have never shot that gun in a room. @pdbnc16 күн бұрын
My understanding (and I'm sure someone will be along to correct me) is that muzzle brake devices have an advantage if you're doing a lot of shooting suppressed in that they act as a sacrificial baffle that's a lot easier on your can's internals than a flash hider or raw dogging it with a direct thread mount. Also I really really don't like cartridge style drop-in triggers on duty/training guns. They just don't seem to hold up as well as the GI style.
@99cobra288116 күн бұрын
Exactly right I dont have a brake on my 11.5 because I enjoy concussive recoil, I have it because a muzzle brake is easily serviceable while the blast baffle in an RC2 is not. I will let that brake eat that unburnt powder versus making the can do it. YMMV depending on what suppressor you own.
@armorers_wrench16 күн бұрын
If your suppressor has an inconel blast chamber you don't need a muzzle brake. Consider: USASOC has used the 4 prong flash hider forever and there have been guys on youtube who have said they very rarely had to send suppressors back to be serviced. Kevin Owens said as much in an old garandthumb video and we also have guys like Ben Stoeger and Joel here who are running flash hiders with huge round counts through their suppressors and they're not having issues. It just isn't an issue anymore but use whatever you want.

I agree. There are times when a shooter is on target and something changes down range. For example, the range I shoot at weekly in Alaska is visited by both bears and moose. It is common to be shooting at the 1000 yd range or the 300 yd range and suddenly a moose or a bear decides to cross. Seems odd. But these animals are used to gunfire and don't care. 2 times I've been locked in on my target, finger on the trigger, pulled the take up, ready to send it and suddenly a moose appeared behind my target, the other time a brown bear with cubs. So I was able to stop the shot. I hunt a lot. There are countless times I've had the crosshairs on a moose or caribou ready to send it, finger on the trigger and the animal moves before I break the shot. Thus finger is back off the trigger.
