I love how Aaron just smiles like he is amazed and appreciates every other guitarists. All of them played and improvised really well it's not a matter of competition they're just having fun and that's that. Nobody is there to teach anyone that their technique is better than the other.

Really great groove the bass is laying down, you can really tell they start feeling it half way through

Nick's phrasing is unreal. Every guitarist, especially one who wants to play music like this where their instrument is front and center, needs to learn how to improvise. Your lines depend on your ability to walk around chord shapes in a non-linear fashion.

You spoke on this very well. You can clearly tell the difference and a "feel" player versus a "book" player.

Yeah, nick Johnston has the reigns here. He always has something different to say. That helps when you’re listening to fucking guitar solos for 8 hours. I feel like he almost never kind of “lands” on anything but that’s also his style. These other guys seem to play things that are a little out of reach, even though they’re really just vamping for 48 minutes and there’s only so much you can do time and again over the same sort of bass line. It’s kind of funny to watch that Kermit kid try to play legato through a tube amp as opposed to his axe fx... not really the same thing and I feel everything plays sounds choked. Oops!

Nick Johnston is so above the pack here that it's almost unfair to the guys who try to jam with him. they sound like absolute beginners. I won't comment on Tim Henson: the guy is stressed as fuck. He can barely play.
