Polyurethane Engine Mount Review - 2000 Honda Civic

Hey! This is my impressions on using motor mount inserts or filling your existing engine mounts with urethane. I'm working on making a more enjoyable daily before I can get started on my S2000 project. The inserts are a really cheap way to liven up your car and give you a more driver's oriented car for anything from a basic econobox to full purpose built track cars!

*Basically use all of the inserts from the ES kit and for the Prothan, you can use all, except for the Rear mount because the ES kit already takes care of that one.

We will be installing hardrace motor mounts on my integra. Based on reviews, the mounts transmit substantial vibration. I hope they respond well.

Nice, if cash wasn't a factor I'd go with those too and if they aren't stiff enough (they should be) you can always add the inserts after the fact since they're OEM style

Vibrations always go down after about 1000 miles with poly mounts

Yeah, you're right, after having them for awhile, it seems they've broken in pretty well.

Does the vibration give the bad to effect the engine?

No bad effect for the engine. The engine normally vibrates. With stiffer mounts, that vibration just transfers more to the chassis.

I got the solid mounts from yonaka and the vibration is too much. Everything vibrates and I can barely hear my exhaust over it. I want just a little more vibration than stock, not this much. Should I just put inserts in the stock mounts?

These inserts are definitely more mild than solid mounts. The good news is the inserts are cheap and easy to do. I hear any vibration with the inserts, but you can feel everything just tighten up if that makes sense.

I know I’m late lol , but what are the part number for the inserts bro all 5, I’ve been trying to find it and I just find one with 3 mounts , I’m also looking for the torque mounts inserts , , thank you bro in advance !

Hey, so it's been awhile since I installed it but at the time there was a guy on ebay that was selling a combo of all 5 mount inserts (basically 3 mounts from the prothane kit and 2 from energy suspension). I used to see someone offer just the torque side monuts from ES and then you would just need the Prothane kit to complete it. Ebay is probably your best bet. Good luck!

What’s the hardness of the mounts?

The prothane inserts are hard, like plastic with very little give. Meanwhile the Energy Suspension inserts have give, softer than typical skateboard wheels but harder than longboard or cruiser wheels. So.... if you know durometer, ES is roughly 87A and Prothane is like 100+ probably

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. But they've held up fine. first week or so was pretty stuff, but as I drove it, they started breaking in and they're still great. Nothing deteriorating, and no bolts rattled loose. And still just as responsive.
