I have a great review of this product. Around 13 years ago I repaired a gas tank for my old truck. It is made from polypropylene. I tried searching for a replacement tank but could not find one. So research online showed that this stuff they sell, Polyvance, was supposed to work. I had nothing at all to loose. I ordered the kit and several different kinds of repair rods. As of today, 8/27/2023 it is still holding strong. The tank had a large crack around 6 inches long. If you are in doubt whether this works or not, it does, and my tank still don’t leak.

I have this Polyvance 5700HT welder and this is for smoothing the surface after hot air welding for the final shape. I do not recommend it for welding on its own, just for smoothing and final shaping surfaces because you will never get so much heat penetration as with hot air welder. This is complementary must have tool with hot air welder and I recommend to work with both tools if you want the weld have structural firmness and professional look so I recommend Polyvance 5700HT as a must have finishing tool. I also have one complain about controller, it should be built at least some LED indicator lamp when the heater is active on and off so the user can know when the SET temperature is reached when the LED light is for the first time off because without any indicator of heater activity the user has to assume is the temperature reached or wait long enough. When adjusting for lower temperature for another material you don't know when the temperature drops without LED indicator heater activity, you have to assume. I would probably build some LED indicator next to thyristor inside to solve this problem. It would be nice to develop digital counter which shows on controller SET temperature and absolute temperature dual display simultaneously as on solder stations.

For the professional I tend to agree, however the Model 7 can repair just about anything; it just takes a lot longer (like 10x as long) and may require mesh reinforcement (comes with mesh) to produce repairs that are as strong as nitrogen welding. So for the DIYer, its a great tool to have because its so versatile and even though its MUCH slower, it doesn't matter so much when you are fixing your wheelbarrow, ATV, kayak or what have you.

@@scottb7600 , 5700HT is a great tool, but for the finishing and smoothing the surface after hot air welding, finishing without 5700HT the work would look nasty. In some cases with this tool you can smooth and hide any imperfections especially after hot air welding.

hi do you have a representative in lombardy in italy by any chance? then for a good weld you have to use equipment with nitrogen or is normal ok? thank you

We have a distributor called Montenovo in Tolentino, MC. (montenovoitalia.it/). You can make a good, strong weld with the airless plastic welder as long as you use the proper welding methods. Hot air and nitrogen will be faster and better overall, but you don't have to have them to make a good repair.
