The contractor we have used to do our bedroom floor has applied the 3044 way too thick. They did a great job on sanding the floor but as soon as I saw how much they'd put on (with a paint roller) I could tell they've put way too much on. It's been 17 hours since application, the floor is still tacky, and it has a chalky white film all over it. Can you advise on the best solution? Is it to let it properly dry out now and then sand the excess off and start again? I imagine sanding off the amount on there, even when dried, is going to be tricky? Please help!!

I use Osmo occasionally on projects, usually tables. Once its opened how do I store it? No mater what container I put it in the it develops a thick skin on top. Is this okay, and if so how long is it good? This is an air-tight container. when I store it in the original can it's almost impossible to open, and once I do get it opened it also has a thick skin surface. Solutions?

Once the can is opened and the content begins to be used, air enters the can and occupies the remaining space of course. Osmo finishes dry/polymerise with the oxygen from the air, and the greater the percentage of air the faster the sooner the drying occurs in the can. So whilst you might expect a new, unopened can to last 5 years or more, once opened it will be less time. You could de-can the contents to a smaller tin however, the tin should be a metal paint tin and not some kind of plastic vessel because oxygen molecules can pass through many plastic materials. Another top tip is to carefully turn the tin upside down after replacing the lid. This can help seal tiny gaps in the lid seal that might allow fresh air into the tin. Hope this helps!

I actually store the remainder of my open can in a plastic bottle so I can squeeze the air out of it. A clumsy unnattractive solution that solvces the "solid film/skin" problem.

A very poor demo since the whole point was comparison of two shades - first you did not give 3040 as much screen time as 3044, second the light is very yellow and third there is no side to side comparison....
