I am thankful to both of you for having this conversation. At 18:38, the pernicious contemporary fallacy of men's health comes to the surface: guys need to talk about it. Not that this is technically wrong, it's just more of the same Denzel Washington school of 'man up' man-shaming (vis-a-vis man-splaining). Men I believe WON'T open up en masse and take the risk of advocating for themselves, and by extension their families and wider communities, unless and until receiving permission to do so from the cultural arbiters of moral authority, i.e. the women. Warren pulls this out of the fire towards the end by bringing up structural factors and wider context, but much of this discussion gets weighed down in the mire of berating, albeit a compassionate beratement, men for not doing better. I fear a message focused on the failure of individual men to 'do the right thing' on behalf of all is a shame-based one that drives the problem deeper into the bone. That said, I appreciate much of this discussion and the fact that you and we are having it. I love this podcast and appreciate the opportunity to weigh in.

General question. Lawpro discriminates against the mentally ill. Their ableist policies are well documented, and many are embedded in legal education, nation wide. The policies encourage lawyers to misrepresent facts, including those brought by mentally ill clients. (Ie brain injury, aphasia, ptsd etc). Your executive director and intake team are made aware of these issues but treat the person reporting the issues with suspicion (rather than appreciation for bringing the issue forward). What an ccmf and the public do, in a circumstance like this? This is an issue occurring in hospitals and quite seriously in psychiatry. Anne Harrington writes well about this sort of issue, w5 have a great documentary called stacked odds, that also highlights some of the issues…
