Great video. I was just wondering how do you sleep and how do you prevent getting acne while building up your grease over the week. I get acne easily so I try to degrease eveyday. If you could should me a way to protect my skin that would be great thank you.

Do you cover your hair with anything when you sleep? I just imagine the build up transferring to my pillow and getting all over my face.

I tend to wear a beanie when I go to sleep sometimes I wrap a bandanna over my forehead then put on the beanie to avoid acne

Simply wash your face thoroughly before going to sleep and rub a bit of baby powder on your face and and comb some into your hair if you are worried about Pomade acne. It may sound stupid but the powder binds the oils. The next day under the shower it will wash out even without shampoo (if you don’t your hair will simply be a bit less shiny/less greasy)

I do this for when I apply a heavy amount of oil pomade: A really quick convenient way to wash oil based out is getting some cheap styling paste (Cremo thickening paste works for me), and work up an amount the size of a gumball into your hair. Wet your hands, run them through your hair. You can leave it for half an hour to wash it all out at once in the shower, or, comb your hair like you're styling it. All the creamy build up on the combs teeth is the thickening paste and oil pomade - wash it off the comb and re-comb your hair until it's just wet hair where it can be shampoo & conditioned again. Use less paste for a lighter amount of oil pomade already in hair.

Why use axle greese in your hair in the first place? Doesn't make any sense to me why it's even used at all.

@@danbasta3677 the pliability/hold is a night and day difference from water based. No flakes or "helmet hair". But to be fair, not all oil based pomades use petroleum (that's obviously used in hospitals as well lol) - some use lanolin instead. Wax and butters are a big play in the wash out. The biggest mistake is people scooping out huge globs of oil based and then have that shit stuck in their hair for 4 days lmao. My comment was more of a solution to that problem as I've done it plenty myself when in a hurry. You have to apply it lightly until it's just right for your styling and so it washes out within 2 days tops.

Murray's Superior is the only classic pomade my local stores carry, and I've been using it since the end of last year now. Because it's so heavy, I shampoo everyday and have bountiful buildup with nice clean hair. Whenever I degrease, I always use about the same amount of a mix of olive oil and coconut oil to break it down before I shower, then I shampoo to wash most of it out. Then I style with a mix of Equate medium hold pomade and Cremo high hold, high shine pomade, which always seems to get the rest of the remaining buildup and grease out the next shower. I plan to try Groom and Clean soon, once everything is back to normal, because my local Walmart carries it.What are the best combs to use?

As of March of 2022, Wal Mart no longer carries Groom & Clean. Groom & Clean is a hairdressing and as long as you only use a small application of it , it washes out of your hair with every other day hair washings.

Great video again. I would love you to do a review of a Vival hair cream from Finland, almost like brylcreem but maybe better, originated in the 50's. I can send some tubes your way.

I used the Tres Flores liquid brilliantine to add a "touch" of shine to my hair with Murrays already in it. Ruined my whole day. Had a greasy floppy comb over for the rest of the day lol

That's why if you choose to use a liquid brilliantine or oil tonic for shine, use it sparingly otherwise it will eat too much of the base pomade you're using.

@@pomadesandpompadours6309 All these product your only suppose to use them with a small application, not the whole tube, or whole bottle of the product, and every other day hair washings are what your suppose to do as only once a week applications of hair dressings and hair loations are sufficient.

If you are prone to fatty skin/ Pomade acne Simply wash your face thoroughly before going to sleep, dry your face and rub a bit of baby powder on your face and and comb some into your hair if you are worried about Pomade acne. It may sound stupid but the powder binds the oils. The next day under the shower it will wash out even without shampoo (if you don’t your hair will simply be a bit less shiny/less greasy and lose some of it’s slickness. If I buy a new Pomade that I find too greasy I sometimes even use this effect to my advantage

Best thing to do is not even put that greesy axle greese in your hair in the first place. Then you wouldn't have to worry about washing it out of your hair. Both Vitalis and Groom & Clean wash out easily and whatever residue is left will stay in your hair the next time you wash your hair. That's why you wash yiur hair every other day and only use these products with a small application. This includes Brylcream, as even Brylcream advises you that only a small application is needed, nothing more. As far as those axle greese products, they are made for colored people as their hair type is a great deal different than everybody else's and their hair has different needs. It's designed specifically for them, not for white people.
