This was fascinating. I’ve always wondered what a professional kit looked like. Also, your prep and organization (not to mention talent) makes me feel like if I was ever in a position to hire a makeup artist that I’d feel so comfortable hiring you.

This is enormously helpful information!! I am not a makeup artist and don't have clients, but I will be saving this video just in case I need anything, and it's vital to be reminded of excellent hygiene in these tough times. Thank you so much Pompberry, this is just fantastic truly, and you're a real gem! 😊🙏❤️

So glad you're able to keep working during the pandemic! Been watching how the ad and makeup industries have been adapting. But wow, the tests are self-administered!! And I sooo agree with the union, I find gloves are often sanitation theater if you're not trained on how to use them effectively. Also uhhh those pants are awesome 😍

Glad you liked seeing it! There's so many different types of tests, I wish they were all this easy for everyone that needs them.

Yep, we have to rub the cotton swab on our tonsils and then another one right up the nose. Not fun, but very necessary

Your test is so much easier than ours! We have to stick the swab to the back of our throat and rub the back of your throat for 10 seconds, then stick it right up your nose until you feel resistance and twist for 10 seconds. No wonder Americans get tested all time, in the UK it’s rough. We don’t have rapid testing either.
@pompberry4 жыл бұрын
Yikes. Here the rapid testing is done through nose swab. Most of the ones I've done have just been inside the nasal cavity, not going up far, but the last one I did went aaaalll the way up and hurt like a b*tch. What I've heard (and this could be totally wrong) is that when tests first started, they thought you had to swab deep inside to be able to reach the v*rus but then they discovered that if you have it it'll just be in your mouth and nose, no need to go deep up inside. Not sure if that's accurate, but all of my tests except for 1 haven't been deep.

And there's no rapid testing at all?! Here there's companies productions hire to do rapid testing on set but there's also clinics you can go get them done at.

Someone needs to let the testing centres know here coz that back of the throat swap is unpleasant! 🤮 you can get a 12 hour test but they’re really pricey, so far no jobs I’ve done have asked me to be tested, I’m mega careful anyway. There’s one feature filming here atm and I believe they’re being tested once a week.

Our testing is different here in Virginia. They come out and stick the swab up ur nose far enough u choke lol its like a foot long 😒🤷♀️🤣. I think I would rather do it the way u do it lol. Its so cool to see how much work goes into being a makeup artist!!!

that covid test is very different to how you take the test in england. its strange that its the same disease everywhere but they dont check it the same way everywhere :/

So crazy how in some contries people get tested every week and some countries don't have enough for the people there or they aren't free
@pompberry4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for real. And here in the US it varies greatly by city or state too. LA has an abundance of testing because it's one of the main hotspots. It would also be impossible to keep the entirety of the TV and film industry open without testing.
