I’m 60. The last time I watched late night tv was SNL IN THE EARLY 80’s. Last late night host was Johnny Carson. Rip Johnny! As a woman I can say, there’s nothing more heart wrenching than seeing a man cry. My father was a rock but he wept when talking about WWII. HE FOUGHT as a ball turret gunner and saw his friends perish in the sky. But a “man” like jimmy to cry at the drop of a dime makes me wanna vomit.

Johnny Carson was and will ALWAYS be king of late night. Letterman was good from 1982 - 92. Leno was also good during his run, and like Carson he rarely ever delved into politics. Kimmel was briefly funny as Ben Stein's sidekick and on The Man Show, but he's particularly unfunny and pathetic now. I've never watched Colbert, Fallon & Meyers - and never will.

He’s not. Stephen Colbert has the highest rated show but it’s close. Colbert has 2.6 million nightly viewers and Gutfeld has 2.5 million. Kimmel has nearly 2 million. Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show only has 1.5 million. Seth Meyers has a little under 1 million. The PBD cohost is right about one thing though and that is all these guys cannibalize each other’s audience while Gutfeld takes the Republican audience all for himself. Cable TV is dying in general though. Cable TV overall has lost 1/3 of their viewers which is massive. Everyone now watches streaming and KZbin. Older people still watch cable and older people tend to watch Fox which is why they are doing better than other stations. Go look at Kimmel’s, Colbert’s, and Fallon’s KZbin viewership and compare that to Gutfeld. They all crush his viewers on KZbin because younger people are watching late night on YT now instead.

Great move bringing in Geoff the robot (Josh Robert Thompson). They played really well off each other. I had heard that Craig wanted to be done after 8 years which would have been the 2012 season. Letterman was his boss and I don't know the behind the scenes between them but, obviously Craig stayed on another two years until pulling the plug in December 2014, about two weeks shy of ten years exactly. My gosh though, Geoff and Craig had some improv bits that were just hysterical. I still watch KZbin clips. My favorite are the German accent ones. Jay Leno was the best, hardly ever missed his show and I never knew or cared about his politics. I haven’t watched Kimmel or Fallon since 2019, never have and never will watch Colbert. Gutfeld is the best!
