Yes, I added an aerator with (2) bubblers and my pond is amazing plus it does not freeze in the winter. The water quality is fantastic and I love the motion it adds to the water!

Thank you for all your videos. I live in Florida. I have a pond in my back yard but it hasn't been taken care of very well. I've gotten all the things you've mentioned for my pond so I'm now more confident about my pond. I will continue to clean it up and hope to have results like yours in a year or so.

I'm glad they have been helpful! What size of pond do you have? Keeping one clean and looking good is a long process. Don't expect changes overnight. Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with!

@@IndyFarmLife it's a half acre I think, but I have a large surface area growth in the middle of it. Once that is clear I'm sure we are good to go.

Ahh nice. Yea, I would think so. If you have fish in your pond, just be careful when you start up your aerator. 30min the first day and then keep doubling each day until you get to 24hrs on.

I’m no elechicken, but you’re drawing more current on the cords that what would typically be used. So if you hard lined it l, you could get your costs down, your pump would run better (stronger) and you don’t burn up nice cords.

Yes, you are definitely right. I just don't have power out there yet. It's part of the grand plan, though.

This is a beautiful pond you've got. Great maintenance. How are the mosquitoes or have you been able to eliminate that annoyance as well?

Thank you! A lot of work but worth it! The pond hasn't seemed to increase them at all. I think having air to turn the water helps. Plus we have a lot of fish that pick them off.

How deep is the pond, appears to be upwards of 2 acres in size & less than 3 years old.
@IndyFarmLife2 жыл бұрын
Right at one acre is surface area. About 19ft or 20ft right now. Need some rain. Will be about 23-25ft when full!

@@IndyFarmLife At 23' would Trout be a possibility? Neighbor had an 20' depth with some springs feeding it, water was cold 3' below surface in late June, too cold for swimming more than 5 minutes.

Which aerator do you use? The link no longer works

I just checked and they seem to be working, but you can use the below. amzn.to/3q0HTjk

My duck pond has aeration. Compressor salvaged from a medical oxygen concentrator. That plug in watt meter is handy for sure. Must b e getting colder there, you lost the Florida look!

barley bales work better than the electric for your pump. Have a great day.
@IndyFarmLife2 жыл бұрын
Possibly for algae, but barley bales won't add oxygen, mix the water, and prevent turnover/fish kills in the fall/winter.

@@IndyFarmLife barley as it breaks down puts off hydrogen peroxide so it puts off oxygen as well research it my friend. Major Koi pond owners already knows this and some Koi are over 250 years old. Have a great day
